I don't know if "spoilers" is quite applicable to a book of reprint material from 1989 or 1998, but this TPB just came out today so . . .

I picked this up for one reason and one reason only. The DEATH OF A UNIVERSE graphic novel. I was never able to track it down, before now.
It was almost worth the wait. Starting a matter of hours after the end of the classic SQUADRON SUPREME maxi-series, DEATH OF A UNIVERSE features . . . well, a Crisis. A giant being appears behind the sun, growing vaster and vaster until it threatens to destroy first the Earth and then the universe. The Squadron Supreme must team up with some of their greatest enemies (and cope with the aftermath of their devastating confrontation with the Redeemers) in order to save their world. Characters live, characters die, all that jazz. It's quite good. So's the one-off THOR issue, which I also hadn't read.
As for the rest of the TPB, it's all stuff that I already have in one form or another. Well, and another, actually. But anyway, it's AVENGERS v3 #5-6, AVENGERS ANNUAL '89, and SQUADRON SUPREME: NEW WORLD ORDER. Personally, I would've scrapped the regular AVENGERS issues and replaced them with QUASAR #13 and 17. The former because it shows the Squadron landing in the regular MU after their "Crisis" and the latter because it's a Gruenwald classic. Speaking of which . . . as fun as the THOR issue was, another Gruenwald SS appearance from either QUASAR or MCP might've been a better choice. No disrespect to Thomas, but the more Grue the better when it comes to these characters.
The MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE storyline that introduced the Nth Man would've been good, too, but it's too long.
So . . . yeah. If you like this stuff and don't already have DEATH OF A UNIVERSE or NEW WORLD ORDER, you might want to pick this up. But if you do already have 'em, I'd say skip it.
