It starts off with Galactus clearly upset that these pathetic creatures hunger. "You Hunger?!?!?" (insert laser blasts here). The zombies try there best to blast back at Galactus but it wont help. They retreat to Pyms lab where Pym, Tony, and Bruce put there slushy zombie brains together and create some kind of power magnifying ray or something. They used the power cosmic from Silver Surfer to fly at very fast speeds to get to various locations around the planet to obtain certain materials needed for this weapon. Some of the other zombies realize that they can cut there stomachs open and eat some of the flesh that they chewed on already and haven't digested. Poor Spidey can't bear to look at himself in the mirror anymore since he ate MJ, and May. So sad, so sad. On the other side of town Black Panther throws the Wasps head at one of the Acolytes cause he feels threatened. Fabien Cortez tells the rest of his team to chill out and back off. They take BP to Asteroid M where he runs into Forge. Of course Forge is gonna hook BP up with some cybernetic lymbs. Back to earth, we find our zombies rolling there new laser weapon closer to Galactus for a good shot when they come across the villain zombies givin Galactus a run for his money. That's a pretty bad ass selection of villains too. Venom, Green Goblin, Super Skrull and many others. Pym says that this is there shot at Galactus and it better be good.
Pretty good book. I'm upset that it'll be over next issue though. Oh well. Let's just hope they don't screw up the ending. What'd ya'll think?

Sounds like maybe I should've given this series more credit. Ah well, there's always the inevitable trade paperback...

This series will be great as a trade, but I've been digging on it from day one. I love this sort of major crossover, where they just drop everyone straight into a crazy situation and telling a story rather than dragging it out so long based on flimsy contextual stretches and creating changes that will never last. I think it will read best, though, as a trade.

Reads just great to me as a monthly. I can't wait to get each issue.
As long as the trade has all the covers it would be fine, but if they don't include them all, that would be a shame.
The series is brilliant. On a certain level it's sort of like what What If? should be, and what it was at its best. Something happens - a zombie plague - with dramatic repercussions on the Marvel Universe, and the series unfolds out of that, and anything can happen. None of that stupid "What if Death's Head II had survived" or "What if Wolverine were an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.?" or any of that stupid crap. What if a zombie plague infected the Marvel Universe? - a totally out there, no turning back concept that really can't happen in the Marvel Universe. And then madness ensues. Smart, funny, cool Sean Phillips art....great stuff.

I do have one question though? How would Venom had gotten infected? Maybe they bit through the symbiote? Was he Eddie Brock at the time? If so why would the alien symbiote not look for another host? ??????

I guess either 1, the symbiote was bitten and infected, or 2, the artist just thought it would be fun to draw Zombie Venom and you're thinking too much about it, or 3, both.

Apparently anyone can be infected by the zombie curse. Theres really no explanation. You just have to suspend your belief and enjoy it. I bet you Silver Surfer would also have been infected if he wasn't killed.

It ends up with Wasp being taken aboard Asteroid M. I BET she infects the crew. The idiot I-look-like-the-geek-scientist-guy-from-the-Simpsons will screw up and get bit and then turn on the crew.
I can't wait to see the zombie heroes knock Galactus down and then crack him open only to realize he's a planet-eating vortex that will suck up the entire universe.
How do you think it will end?

i of course do not know how this series will end, but i wonder if marvel will touch on this universe again at some point? sales/fan reaction seems to have been higher than expected, if i am reading things correctly.

Oh crap! I just realized something, who are the only people in the MU that could possibly create somekind of transdimensional device and infect other worlds? One would be Reed, whose now "imprisioned" in UFF, while the other? Forge, if Wasp somehow gets ahold of Forge then we'll be seeing a lot more of the zombie-verse.

That's a possibility I'd like to see right there. Although I think Forge was always a machine building kind of guy. I don't think he has ever made anything even close to a trans dimensional portal. I don't know though, you never know this is an alternate universe. Things are different.

It must take a whole lot to please you then. Let me guess Star Wars Episode III, and Spider-Man 2 sucked to you too huh?
I mean come on what didn't you like? A one armed, one legged, Black Panther beating the crap outta the Acolytes? Luke Cage and Spidey playing go fish and Spidey revealing how he can't bear to look in the mirror, and Luke Cage responding with "whatever sissy, go fish". Classic material right there.
For all those who read and liked it I have a question. I noticed Mole Man on the last page. What happened to all of this dudes creatures and 50 ft. monsters? Did he eat them all?

When Chuck Norris was denied an Egg McMuffin at McDonald's because it was 10:35, he roundhouse kicked the store so hard it became a Wendy's.

One question regarding this series...If I recall right, an alternate version of the Sentry was responsible for bringing the Zombie virus to this Earth in the first place. Throughout the course of the mini-series, he hasn't been seen since. Where did he disappear to?

MARVEL ZOMBIES #1, 4th PRINTING COVER
Devoured: Marvel Zombies #1 3rd Printing Sells Out, 4th Printing Variant Next
Faster than a spreading virus, Marvel Zombies #1 3rd Printing Variant has sold out at Diamond. In an extremely rare move, Marvel is going back to press with a fourth printing of this issue featuring your favorite Marvel heroes…as decomposing and ravenous zombies.
Another printing can only mean one thing: another amazing variant cover by painter extraordinaire Arthur Suydam featuring a zombified tribute to Incredible Hulk #1.
Says Marvel's VP of Sales David Gabriel, "this series has been such a hit with both fans and retailers that we've actually pushed the date of the collected version well beyond what we normally would do. This will give all these printings of the comics plenty of time to sell. So if you are one of those who waits for the trade, you'll be waiting a little longer on this one! We couldn't be happier with the reaction this book has been getting."
If you’ve missed this issue that started it all or for Arthur Suydam’s newest (and greatest?) zombie take on a classic Marvel cover, do not miss Marvel Zombies #1 4th Printing Variant.
And don’t forget to catch the conclusion to this mini-series in Marvel Zombies #5 on sale 4/5 to learn who will end up as dinner: Galactus or the Marvel Zombies? If you said you saw this ending coming, you’re a liar.
