I am new to Batman's books.

One, there are 1/2 a dz or more Bat books on the shelf.

Dectective Comics, Batman, Gothom Central, all sorts of titles with the word "Knight(s)" on them and those Year One deals.

How are they set up as far as continuity? Does one come before the other? Is there a time line these books follow? I see Batman in JLA and others but they don't reflect in his books.

Which Bat book is the one to follow, the flagship. Why are there so many in the first place? Why do they look so wierd looking compared to the other DC books?

If any one can straighten me out on Batman then they can tell me why Superman has 3 books as well.

If you want to read about Batman then start with Detective Comics # 817 and follow the 8 part story that crosses over with Batman, the main title. After that, follow both or either of them and have fun. That's what I'm doing.

Nick knows what he's talking about in regards to the Bat titles.

If you're wanting straight Batman action, go for the main title---BATMAN---and add DETECTIVE on the side.

If you want Bats mixed with Supes, then head over there.

LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT is pretty good, too.

Concerning Supes, his titles are being cut down to 2 (aside from SUPERMAN/BATMAN). You'll now have him in ACTION and ADVENTURE. Just jump on those when OYL rolls around.

Hope I've helped, and have fun! :)
