Wow! What a fantastic read! It was really great to see what you and Mr. David could do WITHOUT all the crossover nonsense flooding Marvel right now. A great stand alone story with great shots of classic Spidey fighting some of his finest foes, a heartfelt ending AND a cameo by a "SKULL" look-a-like. What more could anyone ask!

Thanks very much, Derrick....! :)
Great work,Mike! I just pick up the series for your art and I wasn't dissapointed. Sandman was even in it which made my day! That David fellow can also tell a good tale I guess... :D

I rly liked this issue, the story was different but thts what made it good. Mike, the art was awesome as well, I loved seeing Vulture, Sandman, and Rhino.
Question though I've seen previews for the next issue, and it said some Cruz guy was doing the art. Why aren't you? We can't lose you, you make the book great.

It's a nice change of pace from what we've been getting lately. The cross-overs, the doom and gloom. This stand alone story had everything: action, humor and a sweet story with tinge of sadness. Beautiful all around.

They skipped me forward to issue #8. After the logistical nightmare that 'THE OTHER' turned out to be, I'd lost a lot of time from waiting for scripts.
So I'm working on the story arc AFTER the two issues that Roger Cruz is illustrating. But Cruz is a brilliant artist... absolutely wonderful. You'll love his issues. :)

Hey Mike!
Nice issue! A fun read! Admittedly, I didn't think much of the story the first time around, but enjoyed in on the 2nd read!
The art was great both times, though! lol!
The Vulture fight was great, there was a real sense of movement, just like it should be! The Sandman, the Looter and the Rhino too, lol!!!!!!!
Fun issue, great work as usual!
And I'm loving the return of the underarm webs, lol!!!!!!
Too bad they won't last, but, as my avatar reveals, I've taken quite the liking to the new costume! Should be a fun change of pace! The cover to FNSM #8 looks fantastic! Can't wait!!!!!!!

This was a great, refreshing read! It's been awhile since I read a single issue self-contained story with Spider-man. I loved seeing classic Spidey fight all those older villians.

Mike, did you have to draw two different covers for #6? The previews definately had Spidey in the classic costume, but the released version has the red and gold. The poses look similar enough that I could believe it was changed at the ink or color stage, but I didn't think you left your pencils that open.

I just did a patch for the cover, Esteban. It was quickly inked, then Paul Mounts colored it and placed it on the original color art..... quick and simple.
