Amazing Spider-Man and X-Factor are both great. :)
If you don't mind adding another Spidey book I'd recommend Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Other good Marvel comics:
- Young Avengers
- Fantastic Four
- Supreme Power (it'll be relaunched as Squadron Supreme soon)
- Book of Lost Souls
- Captain America
It's relatively easy to get into all of these. If you want to know more about some of them just ask.

I would recomend The Thing and She-Hulk. Two of the best reads in comics today

I would say New Avengers! It is a new series you could easily collect and catch up on and features:
Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Sentry, and others all in one book! A big bang for your buck book and the character interactions are sweet.

Try Runaways. It's easily one of the best titles Marvel are currently publishing and you can get the 1st run in a really nice Hardcover edition.
Captain America is another top Marvel book at the moment, but not as universally appealing as Runaways. Whereas everyone I have told about Runaways has enjoyed it, not everyone likes Cap.
Squadron Supreme should be good, because Supreme Power (its original incarnation on the Max line) was amazing. Then again, we have yet to see if its going to be heavily watered down or not now that it is no longer a Max book.
Daredevil is probably my all-time favorite Marvel book and a new team has just taken over the reigns so it's a good jumping on point.
Astonishing X-Men is the best mutant title around just now, but I have to confess to being somewhat biased as I am a bit of a Whedon-Freak, but if you give it a try I doubt you'll be disappointed.
X-Factor and New Avengers also get honorable mentions, well worth checking out.
If you are only going to add 1 title though, I would strongly recommend making it either Runaways or Daredevil.

You really do need to be reading The Thing and She-Hulk as Dan Slott has been doing a A+ job with both of them!
They're the funniest two comic books available at the moment. Also watch out for Slott's occasional Great Lakes Avengers/X-Men books as they are just as good.

I recomend Thunderbolts. Issue 100 is coming this month and according to the author itīll be a good jumping on point in the series.
Itīs a great team-book with an old-school feel.
This link is to a thread where poster Sean McQuaid has summarised the series to a great affect.

yup, captain america and daredevil are must reads at the moment with brubaker on the book.
If you want to get into the up coming civil war then spiderr-man and avengers and maybe fantastic 4. if not then young avengers and runaways are good reads at the moment.
i would also recommend the ultimates vol 1 and soon to come out vol 2.
maybe even peter davids spidy book.

Amazing Spider-Man and X-Factor are both great. :) I keep hearing about how great X-Factor is...I just may check it out.
Sdwr: I'm more into minis at this time, so I recommend the 'Books of Doom' series, as well as 'Ares', and 'Apocalypse/Dracula'.
