I noticed in this month's Wizard (#174), on their TOP 5 BETS list (pg. 142), they have a piture of the cover to Fantastic Four #536, which is the same cover as #535 that came out last week. I thought to myself, "Hmm. That's kinda weird. Misprint maybe?"

But then this morning, I was looking through my Marvel Previews for this month (issue 29-January for March 2006) and came to the page for FF #536 (pg. 33). It showed a different cover. Grey Hulk holding a boulder, getting ready to lay the smackdown on the Thing. I thought this was kinda weird, seeing as the Hulk storyarc just concluded. Then I noticed underneath the picture, it says "Cover to Fantastic Four #535".

Things that make you say "Hmmm..."

Anyone else notice this?

Oh, and by the way, I had the Wizard, Marvel Previews, and FF#535 sitting in front of me when I wrote this. I couldn't have remembered all that stuff otherwise. What do you think I am? Some nerd?

Oh. You do?

Crap.

Great post. I actually got confused by this as well - even in the issue of FF it says "Next issue - blah blah..." and it's a pic of the cover of the issue you're actually reading. I think they're trying to keep us readers surprised by the next storyline - the cover I HAVE seen is very spoilery (if that is indeed what comes next - I can't recall if it's the very next thing or a couple months down the road). Another problem is the pin-up art covers - it gets to a point where you can't distinguish one from the other after a while - I hate that.

I think, though it may have been a misprint, they were trying to keep a lid on Thor's hammer popping up on Earth next issue. But we've all seen the cover already, so who cares?

Dude, I totally forgot about the next issue thing! And yeah, the pin-up covers kinda blend together after a while. Too bad they're not gonna use that Hulk-Thing cover. Looks pretty sweet.

I guess Marvel could just give it to me (hint, hint...)

Whoa Man - maybe some people haven't seen that cover yet - please don't spoil things, especially if Marvel's going out of their way to NOT show it.
