Has anyone ever noticed that the Easy AI in Warcraft 3 is far more competent in its build order than either Normal or Insane?

Have you noticed any other similar AI quirks in video games?

Virtua Fighter 4 Evo's AI was modeled after some the top players, can adapt to your style and is generally tougher than most fighting games

But they sure as hell can't block low

That s**t saved my life in Quest Mode! They can keep it.

In Perfect Dark, on some stages, such as the facility, you can lock out the bots by standing in front of a door so it can't open in your direction. You can use this to win challenges and king of the hill matches, since the bots are also too dumb to use explosives to kill you through the door. Also, some weapons act as a handicap for the bots - Remote Mines and Maulers are extremely powerful in human hands but nearly worthless for the bots, and high-power but low fire-rate guns like the magnum will be preferred by the bots over faster, better pistols like the Falcon 2.

In Timesplitters 2, the bots will sometimes get confused by multiplayer maps and end up all stuck in a corner somewhere.

The enemies in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance are really dumb. They'll often try to do things that have a zero percent chance of success, like charming someone who's immune to charm.

The first SF2 game on the SNES had some easily manipulatable AI. The one that springs to mind is E. Honda, who will always jump at you if you do a crouching kick close to him, and Blanka, who you can beat as Ryu or Ken by jumping backwards the entire time and kicking him if he gets close.

Mortal Kombat 1

To defeat Goro you just had to do a jumping kick, jump back and repeat over and over

To defeat Shang Tsung, just crouch, wait for him to get close and uppercut
