Gaming statistics/Odd facts

I come to you now, sitting in fourth hour, distraught and lost as to what to do. I need your help with an assignment regarding portable video games. I am writing a feature article for Journalism and am having a hard time finding and interesting facts as of late. So, Your Mission, should you accept it, is to bring to me any interesting facts/statistics with regards to portable gaming (facts on newer systems and games would be greatly appreciated). In return, I am prepared to give you many hours of witty comments pertaining to video games and comic books alike. Thanks to those who would choose to respond.

For quality over quantity (though there probably isn't much of that either on the Net), I'd Google for game developer blogs. DS developers in particular tend to have quirky design or slice-of-life stories to offer; I can't remember any links/authors offhand, but 1Up (http://www.1up.com) hosts a lot of gamers and developer personal pages for you to peruse.
