Since Hulk, Thing and Daredevil all have their own solo books, it isn't likely to be any of them.

Major character just means someone well-known who has been around for a while. Guaranteed they won't have their own solo book and won't have done or been involved in anything noteworthy in recent years. It certainly won't be any of the characters you mention - no one even close to that level of importance.

Oh yeah, plus, it's comic books, so whoever it is will only stay dead until some creator comes up with a pitch for that character that the people in charge thinks sounds good.

Namorita??

namorita is probably the best guess. I don't think any of the other new warriors will die, contrary to what everyone seems to be saying, I don't think the blast was as big as the artwork leads you to believe.

Well, the blast has to be pretty big though, since there are supposed to be hundreds of civilian casualties (which is what is supposed to lead to the Superhuman Registration Act).

other than on these boards, where have you heard hundreds of deaths? I must have missed that. I imagined just the deaths of a full handful of children would be enough to start this mess. but if it's 'hundreds' of deaths, then it's an overreaction because the heroes couldn't have prevented it if he was that powerful.

Looks like it probably quite a few deaths though because it looks like Nitro was making quite the bang. And the government could always make the excuse that the heroes were still at fault because things like this could be prevented if they were not always causing "trouble" and getting the attention of more villains yknow?

Nah, that's just cunning misdirection.

Speedball is pretty likely. I don't think there is any chance that a major character along the lines of the Torch, Thing or Hulk is going to get killed. Actually, getting killed could be the best thing for a b-list hero. They stay dead for a year or two and then get brought back to life, re-invented by a new writer and get their own mini-series or solo title.

True words have never been spoken. A hero hasn't lived until he's died.

That was what I was thinking..If the FF was fighting Dr.Doom and innocent people die..It wouldn't be that big of a deal...make those people children and now it is more of a problem...but still...It's Dr.Doom and worse case scenerio we would be looking at a war with Latervia....

Now have some superheroes ON A REALITY SHOW ( i.e. just trying to make ratings and money) attack a supervillian which leads to the death of innocent kids...you have a MAJOR problem

i have heard rumors that it will be Sue Storm.

Which would qualify as a major character.

That's just for the FF issue and she gets brought back to life, i think in the same issue that she dies in. As for who gets offed in Civil War I'm sure it'll be speedball and maybe one or two more of the New Warriors.
