Best of 2006 - Uncanny X-men. Claremont saved his best work on his current run for the time right before he's being kicked off. Honorable mention - Deadly Genesis - the only reason I'm not really really angry with Marvel over CC's departure is that DG is so good that I know Uncanny will be in good hands.

Worst of 2006: Adjectiveless X-men. In fact I'll say this is the worst run IMO of any comic book that I've ever read. Honorable mention - nothing comes close enough to warrant comparison.

Best of 2006: Daredevil still going strong since its relaunch in 98.

Worst of 2006: The majority of the X-titles.

We're only two months into 2006. It's way too early to judge which books are the best for the year.

Well, I'd say that the worst book I've picked up so far has been Uncanny X-Men; Bachalo's art was disgusting and the plot (End of Greys), while not bad, didn't make up for it. I can't give any details because I didn't bother to finish the storyline, but, then again, that is saying something in and of itself. Best so far... Generally if a book doesn't do it for me on the first go, I don't bother with it. I literally can't afford to.

Of course, this is less about best and worst as much as favorite and least favorite, but I have neither the cash nor desire to read through a majority of Marvel books to have the knowledge necessary for giving an actual, technical answer to the thread free of my bias.

Well, I want to say New Thunderbolts because if Marvel isn't going to pimp it out, someone has to, so I'll say New Thunderbolts because if Marvel isn't going to pimp it out someone has to. When I first started collecting comics seriously I picked up the book on a whim (I remember that it was the intro of Charcoal) and while I continued to buy issues, I didn't think too much of it as at this point I was collecting EVERY X-book due to sheer existence. But eventually I realized how consistent the book was, in both art and writing, and despite the amount of prior continuity utilized I've never felt like I was missing out on something. The book has always managed to balance fun, silver age storytelling with modern twists and examinations of human folly without coming off as an attempt at being new age Greek tragedy.

Best: Dan Slott's The Thing

Worst: Nothing on my pull list (honestly, why would you buy it if you thought it was the worst comic out there)

Best: Daredevil

Only two issues, but Bendis left us with a huge cliffhanger and Brubaker is digging the whole even deeper for Matt in a damn entertaining way.

Worst: n/a

Every Marvel title I currently read, I enjoy so I can't say what the "worst" title is.

Worst: (so far)

Best: Thing, She-Hulk, Runaways, Young Avengers, Nextwave, Spider-Girl, Thunderbolts, X-Factor, Planet Hulk (though I'm waiting for the last two in trade form)

Worst: Most everything else. The Spider-Man books could be salvagable this year if they stop the crossover nonsense.

i'd say x-factor is great, runaways is consistently cool and nextwave. ultimate x-men is good too

i've not been as impressed with new thunderbolts as some people are though.. MTU also hasn't been as good as the first 2 arcs...

Best: Though only one issue has come out, Astonishing X-Men #13 was by far my favorite comic this year. I'm really looking forward to the next year in that book. I also love the new Skrull storyline in Young Avengers. Marvel Zombies is really good. I mean every issue has gone back to reprint. Marvel Team-Up is consitantly good as well.

Worst: It's hard for me to judge, but I am not the least bit impressed with Ghost Rider.

Best of 2006 (so far): X-Factor. David hasn't missed a beat from his excellent MadroX series. Runner-up: Young Avengers. Again, consistant fun.
Worst of 2006 (so far): New Avengers. Seriously. The art is good, but the dialogue is damn near unbearable.
-----
Best of 2005: Ultimates 2. Millar continues being Marvel's most entertaining writer. Runner-up: Young Avengers. The best new series i've read since She-Hulk first premiered. Runner-up: Astonishing X-Men. The best X-Men since early Morrison.
Worst of 2005: MK Spider-man. They followed up Millar's excellent run with this crap? Runner-up: Milligan's X-Men. I couldn't get past the first two issues.

Ha, I think we have to wait until March 1 for this vote to count. Ultimates 2 hasn't even come out this year. :D

Best: either Ultimate Fantastic Four or Marvel Zombies

Worst: Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk because it's bi-monthly and I don't want to wait that long. That is how low my opinions of the Marvel Comics I'm reading are ;)

Best: Marvel Zombies, Runaways, Young Avengers, She Hulk, Thing, Daredevil, Captain America, X-factor, Uncanny X-men. Each one of these books has something going for them that I like. Wildly different art styles and writing but its all good....

All in all, I've been pleasantly happy with marvel so far. The vast majority of the books are "good" or at the least, interesting. There's a fair number of middle of the road books like MTU, Excalibur and New Avengers, but other than 2-3 books, nothing I'd scream for my money back.

Worst: 3-way tie at the bottom of the heap.
Ghost Rider - God almighty. I thought I was going to be reading about GR, not Preacher. Sorry, this is an insult to Preacher since at least in Preacher, I can SEE the damn art. Art and writing just horrible.

Howling Commandos - When this was first announced, I thought, "Damn, cool idea, can't wait" But the art in the first two issues just completely demolished any hope for a good story and it didn't help that the story itself was only passable.

(Adjectiveless) X-men - This just needs to be put out of its misery. I honestly can't remember when the last time I actually enjoyed a storyline in this book. ARGH, Marvel, you ned fresh blood on this title.
