This would actually be Batman/Spawn 3. I am excited to see Greg Capullo on pencils again, especially on Batman!

After the terrible cross-over between the two previously, i'm hoping it goes better this time, something with an actual storyline, seriously the possibilities of a Spawn/Batman crossover could be a very good story, like the idea of Freddy vs Spawn, i hope Mcfarlane and DC do a good job on this, if they do it could bring Spawn a little more prestige, god knows the series needs it.

Are you kidding? That book was hilarious. If this one is half that funny, it'll fulfill my "superhero comedy" jones for months to come.

I own both of the past crossovers and man I hope this one actually has a plot, look at the Ash/Azrael crossover or Shadowhawk/Vampirella both of those were decent.

It's not like Miller/MacFarlane Batman/Spawn wasn't without it's merits. :D

That's the point i was trying to make, a Spawn/Batman story shouldn't be funny or just pointless action, it should have deep and interesting story with deep interesting characters which both series have an abundance of.
Those last two cross overs were like Aliens vs Predator the movie, just plain bad, it'd be best if they just started fresh and forgot the previous altogether.
Predator vs Batman and Aliens vs Batman were both fine cross overs, so why can't Spawn do the same.

I know what you meant, I intended my comment to have a jesting tone. :)
All kidding aside, both characters merit an excellent story. I would also like to see some depth and stronger characterization and plot. Worst case scenario: we might get a book that's so tragically bad it accidentally winds up being a pathetic and sad joke, which is what happened last time.
Que sera sera. What can you do?

How about writing a fan fic, and showing writers how it ought to be done, like Mystique/Nightcrawler fan fics, so much better at portraying a twisted, angsty mother/son relationship than any comic or cartoon thus far.

You know what? I was gonna just ignore this one, but I can't. Screw this with an oil drill. This was the worst crossover ever ever ever EH HE HE HHHEVER! Neither company did anything worth remembering, what the hell is the point of this?
Theory one: Dan Didio feels that after the crisis the DC universe will be so great the only blemish left to fix will be the much hated Spawn/Batman Batman/Spawn affair!
Theory Two: Dan Didio thinks Spawn/Batman and Batman/Spawn were so awesome the first time around, we should do this again! He did wait...in...#$&$*%!...line...to ask Todd himself!
I'm sorry, WHAT? I think i just lost my vision and hearing, because when I read that there was this !POP! in my head and everything went all white, and all I hear is this high pitched squeal!
So I ask what the hell is the point of this?
now switching to decaf.

I have no interest in this whatsoever. Yey, Batman! Spawn can go to hell.
Oh wait, he did...thus resulting in a comic series that ran downhill from day one.

I think it would be great to see Todd and Greg on this. Greg penciling and Todd inking. Hopefully Todd and Greg do 50/50 covers Todd on one and Greg on the other. It is sad that we still have people thinking that we are still in the early 90s and this war of words is still going on. Things change people get older and wiser and hopefully we will someday see Todd do a crossover with Marvel.

Ash in the Azrael/Ash crossover was a superhero created by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti, a firefighter turned superhero, IIRC. Interesting design, and his lead villain was the most bizarre Joker knock-off of all time, the Actor, but Joe kind of abandoned him when he became Marvel's EIC.
Since Joe designed both Azrael and Ash, he was given the job of creating the one-shot. Which was okay but not spectacular.

If they do this, I hope there is a scene with Bats and Spawn walking down a corridor with Cerebus. A bunch of comic book characters reaching from behind bars, begging for freedom....
... only this time, we get a clear veiw of Miracleman's hand.

back on topic, I would be more interested in a Batman vs. Spawn. But even that seems like a bad idea. What are they thinking?

The sad part is that it was so bad that it attained some level of awesomenss to it...
I think we're still counting the number of times Batman said "punk" in Miller/MacFarlane Spawn/Batman. I'd be interested in getting the other one though. It actually sound technically sound and good...

As am I. I believe that is the only comic that I ever seen Batman utter "Twit" in a sentence before.
Spawn was in full-on bitch mode in that crossover.

There's nothing wrong with a Batman/Spawn crossover being played for laughs if it's enjoyable. I think the old Spawn/Batman book was great fun. Batman/Spawn: War Devil on the other hand is one of the worst comics of all time

Who's writing it?
Spawn is IMHO a character with great potential that has NEVER been exploited properly. Ditto for most of his cast and villains (the Clown is one of the few Joker derivates that don't look just lousy next top the original).
