Fisrt of all if Heroclix aint yer thing...you might want to skip this one.

Hello all, I finally read issue three and four of IC after being away for awhile. They were real sweet! I began thinking that this storyline would make a fantastic campaign for a series of hero clix games. I am thinking about adding a little bit of light role-playing elements into a series of games. I would essentially play the GM (game master), in that I would create a scenario, make any special rules up, create new dials and or create new characters in order to simulate the comic, as well as control all NPC's, etc...

I am just sort of starting this idea but could potentially start as far back as countdown to infinite crisis. The players can play the good guys some time and the bad guys others.

First battle: Modified BLUE BEETLE/BOOSTER GOLD vs. THE MADMEN!!!!

Lets say you have a 4 player game. The GM and 1 other player will play THE MADMEN (MM) and then two other players will play a modified BLUE BEETLE (BB) and BOOSTER GOLD(BG). Becasue the MM are weaker we will have more of them, like five each. Maybe give BB a better version of super-senses like maybe he only needs a 4,5 or 6 to dodge an attack.

make the map like an alley, have it that BG can not come into the battle for the first 3 rounds becasue he shows up mid fight...i mean this part can come or go, it might just be a better game if he starts at the same time as BB.

You could then move onto something as simple as the castle where Max is hiding out. Have 1 player as Blue Beetle, 1 as OMAC, 1 as SASHA BORDEUX, DM as MAX LORD.

Have a battle in the castle. I mean you have to do all sorts of charaacter mods and make BB like a 200 point character to even the score, but if you were to just make the mods and print them out intstead of making dials and putting them in the figs.

maybe because the actual players will change the characters they are playing many times over the entire series of games, perhaps the players themselves earn points that they keep with them from game to game. Set up a little system where they will get bonus points if the game goals match the story goals. In the story he beats Sasha. So if in the game Blue Beetle succeeds then that player will get bonus points for "playing the comic." However if Sasha defeats Blue Beetle HER PLAYER will get bonus points for "changing the comic". Obviously you get more points for playing the comic rather than changing it. These points carry over from game to game and help to determine the winner at the end of the scenario. And yes when you win a gme you have the option of carrying your team over into the next game if it is applicable.

I mean that was just off the top of the head but what really got me excited was later on making a huge army of OMACS, playing the Battle for Bludhaven, Superboy Prime vs. The Teen Titans, the Heroes vs A Serious Kick-ass Custome Hero Clix BROTHER EYE as a giant figure.

Any comments ideas...power suggestions, rules suggestions, scenario ideas are strongly welcomed. I first tought about this actually regarding the original Crisis on Infinite Earths. But if anyone out there likes Clix and plays a lot this might be something to try out that could a little bit of a different flavor...I mean you could almost consider it Earth-2 CLIX. BTW most of the people I play Clix with are superhero fans, who havent actually collected many comics. I figure you play the story and then also always have your readers copies of the stories that are relevant to your games and perhaps even print something out that details the name of the comics that the story is referenceing...who knows. Anyway lets get going...who is creative out there?
