Question about Robin

In the DC/Marvel All access crossover in the second issue where Robin and Jubilee get together again for a bit. Robin mentions he has a girlfriend named Ari. Does anybody know who that is and is she a canon character?

This Robin was Tim Drake, not Dick Grayson.

Ari is Arianna Dzerchenko, an Eastern European immigrant (or child of immigrants, I forget which). She went to high school with Tim and they were an item for a long time, but he was always torn between her and Stephanie Brown/Spoiler. Eventually Tim broke up with Ari at the same time that his romance with Steph started to become serious. I have no idea what happened to Ari after I stopped reading Robin (around #75).

Personally, I never liked the character. She was neurotic, shrewish and whiny.

That's about right. Frankly I was thrilled that she was painted out the Robin canon. As for Tim's friends in Gotham and Brentwood (Ives, et al.) I miss them. That was one thing Willingham screwed with; gave him no real characterization.
