just got done reading this 2 part arc, and i must say, it reminded me of the good old days where comics were simple. first i must start off by saying that i enjoyed this arc much more than i did "city of crime". just my opinion, but i thought the art was better looking and easier to follow and the story was simple, but entertaining. it was almost like watching an episode of the 1990's animated series.

thoughts? opinions?

Find the threads for those issues...

That's where they will most likely be. I don't feel like typing them out again.

Like Guts said, there are two full threads on this, both in which Shane McCarthy responds.

But yes, these were two of my favorite Batcomics in quite awhile.

Here is the most recent thread:

Here's what I said again... just to boost the word of mouth for these great issues:

Normally filler issues are crappy fillers because the publisher needs SOMETHING.

We were given a rare treat with these issues.

Great work Shane! A fantastic story from beginning to end. And thanks to Cliff for a visually stunning 2 issues.

I hope you guys get on a regular Batman book together!!! Shane McCarthy... Batman writer of the future! And if that is indeed the case the future looks bright!

I liked the fact Batman acted like a DETECTIVE in Detective Comics (weird!) in both issues... he should be able to track Jason or Tommy and kick the living sh!t outa them... and move on!

Shane should get a gig on Batman... he's a great writer!

I really liked these issues too. They were a pleasant surprise, especially after "City of Crime" (which I thought started off strong but got weaker near the end). Today, we rarely see a nice self-contained two-parter or single-issue story that is not part of a long multi-part story arc. I've always liked Zsasz as a villain, and it was nice to see him again. I'm looking forward to Cliff Chiang's artwork on the upcoming Spectre miniseries.

Yeah, there are lots of threads out there with plenty of praising (for Shane and Cliff's work) and for damning (City of Crime, among others) the work on Tec... Search 'em out. There was plenty to say.
Shane even made an appearance a few times. Seems like a pretty classy fellow. And it seems we all want him to get a permanent gig on Batman somewhere.
