I notice that several issues are now building little 'mini-montages' for some central characters--e.g. jimmy olsen, lois lane, batman. showing them passing through various incarnations with a background of lightening. I guess also wildcat and ga flash to some degree. and sort of wonderwoman--in her case using covers of "world's finest' instead of different manifestations of WW.

out of curiosity:

1. which characters did they do this to? (a list with issues if possible)
2. are they intermingling GA with SA with BA with E2 with post coie?
3. can anyone tell me what all the batmen were? I recognize pre-coie bats? maybe e2 bats? current bats and what appears to be owlman from e3. any help here?

1. They appear to just be picking a random character from each book. I don't think it has any greater meaning or connection, it's just whoever the writer/artist decided to use.

2. My knowledge is fairly vast, and I can tell you that these are a combination of key points in the character's history (regardless of Crisis) with some that appear to be just made-up. The fact that Robin doesn't appear in his "short-pants" costume seems to be a bit of a crime, though.

3. See #2.

Just a sidenote, we were discussing in another thread that we think the fact that Wildcat and Flash noticed this happening was a bit of an internal miscommunication on DC's part, since none of the other characters notice it in other books.

thanks for info. but it looks like the e2 characters notice that they have moved to another earth and the e1 (mainly) characters don't actually 'land'

The fact that Robin doesn't appear in his "short-pants" costume seems to be a bit of a crime, though. He did - they just coloured it otherwise. There's a distinct ink line where the briefs would end, and the rests of the costume matches. I know, I missed seeing Robin!leg. :D

They did it in the last Manhunter but not in the last Green Lantern, even though it still had a 'next - OYL' tag.

Green Arrow had one, Huntress had one in BoP, the various headquarters (watchtower, satellite, etc.) had one in JLA, and I think the Hawks had one too.

Catwoman had one. Dick & Barbara had one, but not The Flash.

Hawkman doesn't notice anything, and he's an Earth 2 character.

good question, I was wondering the same thing.

What I'd really like to see is a page with scans of each of those last pages, just to see the different versions of characters in the books I didn't get. Anyone feel like doing that?
