Ramona Fradon will be a guest at the Paradise Comics Toronto comicon in late April.

There are plenty of other guests, but she is #1 by a mile on my list of people to meet. Marie Severin was originally scheduled to attend as well, but has cancelled.

I am planning on having her sign a comic or two for me, and I would be happy to take anything along that you'd like her to sign.

If anyone would be interested in having me ask Ms. Fradon sign a book for them, and would like me to pass anything along to her - please let me know.

You can mail the comic to me here in Toronto and I'll send it back to you after the show.

Since a temporary hospitalization kept Mark Evanier from attending WonderCon, I was lucky enough to sub for him in interviewing Ramona Fradon, one of my all-time favorite cartoonists.

I get a feeling that Ramona just can't figure out why so many of us love her work. In fact, although she's best-known for her work on AQUAMAN, she isn't particularly fond of that material.

If you're gonna get something signed, I'd bet she'd react best to some of her early work on DC's westerns and mystery stories, PLOP! and most of all, PLASTIC MAN. Those are the gigs she mentioned as being some of her favorite. She also said that her recent work for NICKELODEON magazine was some of the most "fun" projects she can recall.

She'll probably have some pencil art for sale as well. Believe me, not only is Ramona every bit as good as she ever was, the prices she's set are unbelievable bargains.

And Scott, please send her my best wishes. It was a real honor to have spent a bit of time with her on the WonderCon dais.

Aloha,

Scott!

The Aquaman-Aqualad commissions I've seen in comicartfans member's galleries are fantastic! Really, these pieces are beautiful. :)

I've got an early issue of Gang Busters lined up and will probably take along an issue of Plas and maybe Super Friends (there's a United Nations cover I really love).

I certainly will.

Thanks for the advice Scott - I'll have to find a copy of Ramona's Plastic Man to get signed...but, if she's sketching, I'm still paying for Aquaman!
