My Antonishing Theory (Possible Spoilers)

So, I don't really have a theory or any reasons for what's happening over at Antonshing with Emma.

But I do have a suspect. What's the purpose of the student Blindfold???


AXM 4: Hisako mentions Blindfold. Why would she do that?? Blindfold wan't even in panel. Whedon thought it was important to introduce us to this character. Why would he have Hisako say that Blindfold is a lonely girl??

AXM 5: Once again, Hisako talks about Blindfold. Aparently, the girl can read minds.

AXM 7: Blindfold finally appears. She is the first to sense Wing's Death. Plus she looks and sounds creepy.

M Day strikes. Blindfold is not depowered.

Am I crazy here to thing this girl has everything to do with what's happening?? Am I????

I think Whedon just wanted to have a couple student characters to play with. I don't think that Blindfold really has anything to do with anything. Ernst got a save in the 198 Files also, and hints that she's really Cassandra Nova. So we'll see if that plays out to be the case in Astonishing X-Men. I think it's more likely that Blindfold may be the S*W*O*R*D plant in the mansion that was mentioned. :)

Oh, I totally agree. Wing was created to die. Blindfold was probably created to be the S*W*O*R*D mole in the mansion. And Hisako was created cause she's cool, I guess. :D

Honestly, from the beginning I've shared your theory. Throughout "The Cure" storyline, I suspected Blindfold but then she fell off the radar during Dangerous (which could be purposeful [is that a word?!?]).

But then, Hisako could be the traitor and her mention in Runaways was meant to throw us off. But that option would make me sad because I like her and actually do want her to become an X-Man.

To expand on what I was saying last night...

Well, we know that S*W*O*R*D's mole in the mansion was in the Danger Room before they lost contact with them. The only people who were in the Danger Room at the time were students. If I recall, Kitty herself had already left. I can't see Whedon not using a character he created for the S*W*O*R*D mole, so either it's Hisanko or Blindfold, since Wing is dead. So I can certainly see where Hi-Fi is coming from.

I suspected her at first, too, but now I have my doubts she has a masterplan behind-the-scenes. BUT, that might be what she wants me to think. :evilsmile

I'd like the next Astonishing writer to come in and clean up Lockheed's history actually... it was implied when he hatched that he might eventually grow much larger, I'd like to think he's still a baby. He's also the last of his race iirc.

You realize that he's not been that for ages. I have a feeling Whedon never even read his origins.

Even if Whedon had....not very many other people have. Like I said he was treated a lot like Kitty's pet and for people who don't know much about him (most of the people reading Astonishing btw) that's all they saw him as.

I dont see the "need" to bring in info from a book that was cxld almost a decade ago that really does nothing for the stories set forth in this book.
