I found out that even the mighty Gail, President of the Lebians is allergic to something (apples) and I was wondering what you guys are allergic to.

I've got an allergy to chicken and also to household dust (I'm asthmatic) as well as a lot of scented things. Oh and a bit of hay fever.

Household dust, office dust (moldy files once gave me a fever!), cats, the beeswax they use to keep gunny bears and stuff like that from sticking together, fabric softener.

I used to be allergic to pretty much everything in my dairy consuming days (that's what the allergist said when he looked at my arm - 'hmmm, looks like you're allergic to pretty much everything').

Then I quit dairy. Nothing, now. At least no reactions.

Tide laundry detergent. Dust, mold. The usual.

My allergy tests returned more positives than negatives as well. I always carry an anti-histamine with me, just in case. My strongest allergic reactions are to: cats and animals that lick themselves (it's the saliva), dust, mold, and leaves. Growing up, I was allergic to seafood, but I grew out of it as an adult. (I found this out because I once accidently ate seafood and was like "OMG, take me to a hospital!" but then I had no allergic reaction and have been fine since...)

My doctor diagnosed me as being allergic to sulphur when I was younger (I was told I broke out in rashes and stuff), but apparently I no longer am. I found this out when I reported sick while I was in the army, and was told by the camp's medical officer that the anti-malaria pills we all had to take contained sulphur. He recommended taking the alternative malaria pill for the G6PD deficient but since I hadn't experienced any side effects I just continued taking the regular ones.

I have no idea whether I'm still allergic to anything now.

I was pretty allergic to pollen (got a fever & everything one spring), but that seems to have gone away by now. Mostly now, it's just household dust.

I am Italian,my parents are Italian chefs who owned their own resturant.

And i'm allergic to Garlic.
This, plus my enjoyment of wearing black, pale skin, has led to a endless stream of vampire jokes at my expense from my friends, family and co-workers for the last 20 or so years.

Garlic...ick.

Dust & pollen ususally have me running for Clariton. My Allergies are seasonal, so when the temperature changes, I have at least a week of feeling bad.

Apples? APPLES?

Lame, Gail, really lame. Why couldn't you be allergic to something cool, like alligator scales? Or cosmic space dust? What kind of weakness is an apple? That's like being vulnerable to wood... or the colour yellow.

Look at it this way. It's like having a superpower.

(Me and friends entering a room)

Me: <sniffle> There's a hidden animal in this room.

Friend: Really? How do you know?

Me: <ah-choo! scratch, scratch> I just do!

<Cat crawls out from under the bed>

Me: Hah! I told you!

I stick it out, usually. There are two types that I can take, but they're somewhat expensive so I need to be really sick before I'll go to the doctor.

I don't know which is more tragic, the fact Gail can't eat apple pies or the fact that Cam doesn't like spicy food!

You haven't lived if you haven't ordered a Lamb Tikka Mekhani Masala! :(

Cantaloupe and Carrots.
I can still eat them, but they make my tounge and gums swell up and throb. Plus, they give me terrible heartburn. But sometimes with a ripe and juicy cantaloupe, it's worth it.

Hay Fever.
When I was a kid it was so bad my eyes would swell shut. But luckily it doesn't get that severe anymore. It's too bad, cause boy would that be sexy.

Eh, either way. I don't think of it as an allergy, moreso as a superpower. It's rare and I can garrantee it probably won't be useful in the long run. Like many silly superpowers.

Dust mite.
Pollen.
Varied grasses.
Same here, plus . . .

All other nuts.
Beans (including soy).
Peas.
Chicken (mildly).
Pet dander (mildly).
Bee stings.

And a few other environmental things. Basically if it's green and it grows, I'm allergic to some part of it.

Various environmental things...dust mites, molds, pollens, etc.

Asprin.

Foods are the worst, though. In addition to being lactose intolerant, I also have celiac disease, which means I can't digest wheat/gluten products. So breads, pastas, and anything else that uses wheat or wheat products is out. Luckily, I'm a decent cook, and have found adequate substitutes.

Eggs, too. But just the whites, which is weird, right?

Almonds.

So, she's had to stop wearing exhaust fume sweaters and breathing around sheep.

Prolongued exposure to cats gives me the sneezies, and certain laundry products make me itch as hell. Otherwise, I'm quite fortunate in this department. My ssiter's allergic to beer, which she found out in a not-so-great manner after a night of drinking.
