Heya, guys,

Being relativelly new to all things Belldandy, I wonder if you could clear a couple questions for me.

What´s the deal with the TV series, there was a 26-part series and then a 6-part mini-seies retelling the same exact story, with better art but (naturally) less focus on the characters background and stories. Which came first and why did they feel the need to do it all over again?

I´ve heard about something called Mini-Godddesses and even stumbled across a chibi version of the three sisters, what´s that all about?
Is that in-cointinuity, or something the studio did just for fun-and-giggles?
Animation and storywise, is it any good?

There´s the 26-part series, the "compact" six-part series and then the movie where Belldandy´s teacher is released from his moon-prison by a farie.

Did they ever produce anything else or do they have anything else in the pipeline?

Danke )

Dunno much about the anime, but the "Mini-Godesses" came into the manga a long while ago... Fujishima tends to use them for little side-stories and 4-koma.

the 6 part OVA came first back in the early mid 90's IIRC.

The 26 episode TV series was just last with only the first 24 episodes Airing and the last two eps being DvD only.

the 26 episode series was basically the first few volumes of the Manga with characters from later on in the series, and the Terrible Master Urd Arc.

Episode 25 and 26 were episodes about how Urd and Skuld dealt with the power depletion Via the Moonstone that Keiichi made.

Actually, of what I saw it's pretty much everything up through the Terrible Master Urd Arc. Just using concepts like the Angels that didn't show till much, much later. IOW, it's retelling the early manga with the sensibilities of the late manga.

With the exception that it does an adaptation of the Sora Unchained arc.

Though I missed a few episodes in there.

Anyhow, the original OAV, which IIRC, is only 5 parts, is mostly just the bits that Intro each Goddess and an multiparter original to that series.

The Movie doesn't really necesaarily fit to any continuity, but pretty obviously uses the late Manga for inspiration.*

The adventures of the mini goddesses is mostly just wackly fun.

* Though, given the characters involved, it would have to take place before Keiichi graduated

6-part? Only appears to be 5 parts on the DVDs I've got - 3 eps on the first disc and 2 eps on the second.

Still haven't looked at the new DVDs from the series. Been trying to figure out if they were worth the near $20 cost to purchase, or if I could find a better deal later by waiting.
