Pia and Ian have each been nominated for a Shuster Award (http://www.shusterawards.com/). For those of you unfamiliar with the awards, the Shuster Awards are given out to outstanding Canadian comics types. Ian's nominated in the Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Writer category, and Pia's nominated in the Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Artist category.

Congrats, you two.

If this has been posted already and I missed it, I apologize for being more stupid than usual.

Man, do these two deserve it.

Ian is kicking it regularly on one of comics' toughest gigs (I sometimes write five comics a month and I'm still utterly terrified of what Ian manages to do, which is regularly write the monthly Simpsons comic--a Herculean task), and Pia, well, dammit, I just read a huge mess of Y: The Last Man in a row, and GODDAMN if she isn't even more awesome than I'd remembered. The storytelling is PERFECT. It oughtta be taught in classes.

I hope they both win!

Gail

Thanks guys. The awards last year were very touching and you could tell they meant a lot of Joe Shuster's family members. Really a kick how many people from the Golden Age era are still around, sharp as tacks and full of stories that would melt your head.

It's an award we're both proud to be nominated for.

I love Ian Boothby more than cake. Though not in a way that would make Pia nervous! :D

Congrats Ian and Pia! On another note I didn't know Adrian Alphona and David Finch were Canadian.

Congratulations Ian and Pia. Why didn’t anyone tell me Ian was famous? Now I feel like an idiot for all the times I debated with the guy.

Ian and Pia are in the comics biz? Heh never knew that. I don't read Simpsons books, but love Y: The Last Man. Its one of those books I actually bother to recommend to people.

I don't believe I've ever "spoken" with Pia on here, but either way, I never knew you were fame-oose Ian. I always thought that Gail wrote Simpsons and Y:TLM. Weird :o

Seriously, congrats on all your affairs!

Thanks guys. The awards last year were very touching and you could tell they meant a lot of Joe Shuster's family members.Okay, that makes more sense. I was thinking the name of the award was based on Wayne & Shuster.
