View Full Version : Regarding Vulcan...if Ed Brubaker is here perhaps you can answer this.

If and just if Vulcan has also absorbed the powers of his teammates. Wouldn't that make him beyond uber if at omega level he can stop time, control earthen terrain and also adapt his body to any environment on top of his own natural ability to control energy of all types which could come from the inside the nucleus of an atom or even the static electricity one builds up by walking on a carpet.

On average levels all these abilities would make him very powerful. But omega level mutants are practically cosmic. I mean if he wanted to he could snuff out the energy in stars and cause a universe wide sized blackhole.

Just wondering if this all came into contemplation when making such an uber charactor.

Tho' to be fair, "omega" just refers to potential to basically transcend humanity, IIRC. That's why Iceman and Phoenix are, but Storm, I believe, is not.

yeah he is far beyond omega whatever that means given omega is top of the line. It's not just potential because most omega level beings have power to match the potential hence why iceman and jean grey have been able to do things that superceded most.

But Iceman has only hinted at his Omega potential, being lazy and all.

Apparently Gambit had the potential, at least in one format.

Rachel says and I quote he is "way past omega level"

(I'm not making fun of your spelling): but I laughed when thinking of Rachel actually saying this guy is way "paste" omega.

when did it say that he can absorb powers of others? I guess I must have missed that part in the books

It didn't, I was wondering that myself. But I think it's safe to assume he might of absorbed his team mates powers some how because:

1: He was able to live in space in that meteor - Darwin
2: He has manipulated earth a few times - Petra

There may be more examples but I can't think of any at the moment. Although, these just might be his actual powers.

Perhaps he can absorb the energies generated from mutant powers. Like he can absorb the X-Gene or something...which would relate to House of M.

Personally, I hope when he becomes a regular villain he loses his (former) teammates' powers and sticks to energy mastering.

And then give the powers back to Petra, Darwin, and Sway so they could come back still powered. Because I love them. :D

Agree. How do you go past omega when its potenial is infinite? Unless Brubaker is making a new scale of power that's above omega in some way(which I don't see how you could) I say igrone it, he's just omega like Jean and Iceman.

Could just be a figure of speech too. Like a comment I hear gay people say alot: You are way past issues. You've got volumes.

Doubtful it was meant literally.

I dont think he stayed alive on the meteor. It looked like he awoke, or was revived with the energies from HoM. Remember hw somes up and is screaming their all dead or hes surprised to find their all dead. So I dont think thats an example of him using Darwins powers. The others tho have been a pretty clear. He definitely showed Sways and Petra's unless they reveal their alive in some form or another, not nescessarily physically.

Well, whether he was "awoken" or "adapted to survive on the krakoa turd" doesn't much matter in itself because he was able to make his way from the turd to the space shuttle IN A VACUUM. That is an example of adapting like Darwin in itself.

Ed's already been online in the DG #4 thread and said issues 5 and 6 should answer all of our questions, so I'm just gonna wait and see what he has instore.

we can chalk it up to Rachel not doing her homework in xavier's classes properly so she didnt know the correct geek definiton of omega level :)

he was all omega in X-Men Forever and AOA, where he could turn into water and travel through water if i remember. He could also teleport in AOA, and when Emma Frost had taken over his body...

bless Scott Lobdell, he did great stuff with bobby! :D
