Ok I just bought a new car about 6 days ago and now I can't even enjoy it because I am worried about damaging it and am worried about the payments or if it gets stolen or someone hits it when I am at work or in the movies.
Has anyone else been stressed out from a new car purchase?

Never bought a new car. Don't believe I ever will.
I've always bought used cars. They don't depreciate in value, and they still run well over 250k miles.
This way I spend my car payment/car insurance/property tax monies on comic books!

Yes. I bought a new truck about 6 months ago. I'm still checking for scratches whenever I leave from a parking lot, but the paranoia lessens eventually. When I park at work, I park at the far end of the parking lot well away from any other vehicles to avoid fender benders.
I feel your pain, but it will get better. Try to enjoy it. That truck was the first new vehicle that I'd ever had. I'm enjoying it.

im on my second new car. bought it last summer. it has several dents on the side from when people slam their doors on it. you just cant prevent stuff like that so why worry about it. and if it gets stolen well, thats why youre forced to pay for auto insurance.
does full coverage cover for stolen vehicles?

I believe insurance companies put limitations on the mileage and age of the vehicle. After that, I think they give money for the adjusted value of the car. I seem to recall Allstate's commercials touching on that as a selling point.
I was paranoid about my new used car...for a day. Second day of driving it I spilled a coke all over my driverside floor mats. After that, I stopped worrying so much. ;) Now it's 8 years old and covered in dings and scratches, food stains on the seats, the front bumper is slightly f'd up, and the paint is chipping ever so slightly in spots. That will be your 'new' car someday, so you might as well stress less about it and enjoy it more. :D

does full coverage cover for stolen vehicles? No the car thieves have to pay for their own insurance. :D
It's part of the "comprehensive" section of insurance. So when you're thinking limits thereof that's where to look. For minor dents and dings, it might not be worth reporting (if you're not liable for another's damage) because usually there's a deductable that you have to pay... and then pay higher rates to boot.

I once bought a car that was only 3 years old... that's the closest that I've ever come to buying a new car, and probably I will never buy a brand new one. The depreciation is brutal for the first few years but then levels off significantly after that.
However, I do understand your stress. The first time I parked that 3-year old car in a semi-rough section of town, I was very stressed out. But Minnesota winters are hard on cars. Several months later, I had ding in one door from some parking lot incident while I was inside shopping, my fender was slightly dented from a fender bender on an icy day, and my hood was pockmarked from following the sand truck too closely during a blizzard. After that, I was pretty relaxed about my car.

And not knowing that it’s a car someone disliked enough to get rid of. Other than that, yes depreciation sucks.... especailly when you finance and it winds up years before the value catches up to what you owe.
