Meet Papercutz writers Stefan Petrucha and

Don McGregor at New York Comic-Con

Papercutz, the new graphic novel publisher for teen and tweens will be exhibiting at the New York Comic-Con at the Javits Center in New York City, February 24 – 26. Papercutz writers Stefan Petrucha (Nancy Drew, Girl Detective) and Don McGregor (Zorro) will be signing copies of their graphic novels at the Papercutz booth 301.

Stefan Petrucha, known for his brilliant scripts on Topps Comics’ The X-Files series, continues to dazzle readers both young and old alike with his clever writing on the Nancy Drew, Girl Detective graphic novel series. USA Today declared “Nancy Drew is still the hippest girl in town!” The New York Times magazine announced “Nancy Drew is cooler than ever having recently conquered the ultra hip medium of the graphic novel.” J. Kingston Pierce, of January Magazine’s Crime Fiction Report opines that Nancy Drew

#1 is an “engaging tale that updates the franchise without totally recreating it.” Even Curve magazine raved, “…when it comes to cool, absolutely nothing can top the uberhip… Nancy Drew novels from Papercutz.” No wonder Nancy Drew, Girl Detective #1 is in its third printing in less than a year.

Don McGregor, who has been thrilling comics fan with his poetic prose for over three decades on such acclaimed titles as Marvel’s Black Panther, Killraven, Luke Cage, Hero for Hire, as well as his own creations, Sabre and Detectives, Inc. has continued writing the romantic, swashbuckling adventures of Zorro for the new Papercutz graphic novels. Don had previously chronicled the exploits of Don Diego’s heroic alter ego for an exciting run at Topps Comics and for a nationally syndicated newspaper comicstrip. Don has placed Zorro in exciting new situations, dangerous locales, and introduced deadly new foes, as well as having him meet the beautiful Eulalia Bandini, a strong, independent woman who even unmasks Zorro and questions his life as a heroic adventurer. The Comics Buyers Guide gave Zorro # 1 three stars and declared, “kids will love it.”

Also manning the Papercutz booth at New York Comic-Con are graphic novel pioneer and Papercutz publisher, Terry Nantier, and erstwhile editor of Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and now Papercutz Editor-in-Chief, Jim Salicrup.
