When I say "great", I mean it (in your opinion). I am not talking about "oh, I picked up the recent Teen Titans TPB and it was a decent read". I am talking about "I just bought the first Grant Morrison JLA collection and it was one of the greatest things I have read!!!".
So, what is the last DCU collection you read that you thought was "great"?

I was very impressed with the omac project tpb. I like that it included countdown to infinite crisis, sacrifice part 4, synopsis of sacrifice 1-3, and a cover gallery including the alternates.
the last great dcu hardcover i read was the COIE absolute edition.

I don't read/own too many TPBs, but the best DC TPB I have read is Kingdom Come, which I read just two days ago.

I just polished off my Identity Crisis HC and it was just as amazing as when I originally read it in single issue form two years ago. The monthly suspense was gone, however, which too a bit of the thrill away. Still, for all its criticism, this is one of the most powerful, tense, and atmospheric DCU reads ever!

DC Universe The Stories of Alan Moore was great.
Green Lantern Rebirth HC was awesome.
I really recommended them.

I'd say DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore, if I didn't already own them as single issues. So my current answer would be Top 10: the Forty-Niners.

My god there are so many. I think that I'm spending way too much on comics, because a blur of various titles I've bought in the past month (or got for Xmas) just flashed by.
Speaking of "flashed by" (see that smooth segueway? Yeah...) I just got the entire Geoff Johns run in tpb (minus Wonderland) and it was great for the most part.

Showcase Presents Superman vol. 1, the Metamorpho volume was good but didn't have the same level of "I can't put this down!" as the Superman volume.
Prior to that were the Animal Man volumes which I had gotten earlier in the year. The Doom Patrol trades are compelling too but rereading material doesn't quite pack the same punch to me oftentimes.

"Arkham Asylum: Living Hell" by Dan Slott. Chills down your spine good. This is the complete opposite of his She-Hulk writing.

Ooooh! I'd have to say the amazing ZATANNA'S QUEST, reprinting the first appearances of Zatanna in the DCU, penned by the always-genius Gardner Fox. It was a delight to see Fox in his prime, writing battles with druids in microscopic worlds, Hawkman finding an immobile girl that speaks a strange language in the middle of a lost city in China, the brain-blowing concept of a "steady-state" universe (Julie Schwartz sure knew his oysters when it came to all that science jazz), Fox's endearing characterization of Zatanna as a well-meaning, loyal Daddy's girl who is more than a little ditzy, which made way for Gerry Conway's characterization of Zatanna, where she truly became a wise, powerful, assertive woman and chairwoman of the Justice League.
Everything about ZATANNA'S QUEST was wonderful. There was Ray Palmer driving with gloves on like a Playboy or something. The Atom crying out "I don't know magic...but taste my bewitching PUNCH!" Green Lantern using his brain to defeat a powerful wizard...

If we're sticking strictly to the DCU then I'd probably say the last Gotham Central TPB.

Superman - "Red Son", one of the best Elseworlds I've read & I really love the characterization of Luthor in this book, treading the fine line between hero & mad scientist!
