In my opinion, the 3 best shows on TV right now are 24, The Shield, and Lost, however, I also consider them the 3 worst. Each episode of these are totally engrossing, they suck you right in, and even commercial breaks make me upset(I have TIVO but you still have to fast forward). I get so hooked and have to look at the time to see how much longer I will be stimulated before I am led to the edge of the cliff and left hanging. If it weren't for the conversations and the speculating I would skip the episodes entirely and just watch the whole season at once when they finally get relsed on dvd.
Anyone else experiencing this ? What shows are you so excited to watch when they are on and yet so frustrated at the end knowing a whole week has to pass before the next one ?

Battlestar Galactica
Bones
House
Desperate Housewives
Smallville (Despite the occasional hiccup, this season has been pretty solid)
Courting Alex (What can I say, I love Jenna Elfman)

Lost
24
Prison Break (I mean, how many months must we wait. This was shoddy programming on FOX's part.)
Two of these are two of my favorite shows ever. It's murder when they end and go on hiatus.

I used to feel that way about Lost. But the glacial snail pace that things happen at is annoying me to death. I still like the show but I no longer tingle in anticipation because I know nothing is going to happen. This season started out with a bang like maybe things would be different but its regressed back to the form of last season.
24 is a popcorn show for me. I love it but I know whats going to happen every week so it doesn't kill me in anticpation. The Bauer is gonna kill him some terrorists. The Bauer is then going to yell "Who are you working for" a few times. The Bauer is going to get mad a few times. And most importantly The Bauer is still not going to ever have to use the bathroom. Bodily functions are scared of the Bauer.
Other shows I watch are Smallville, Battlestar, and Alias. Of those Alias is probably the only one I really look forward to week to week. And its killing me that its been hiatus so long and ABC still hasn't rescheduled it. I hoping that now that Jen is no longer pregnant things will move along and the return of many former castmembers can only mean good things.

Three for me.
Samurai Champloo, which sadly will be come to an end soon. Just can't get enough of the high quality stylish animation from this one. I hope there's a film down the road somewhere cause once it ends I will be having withdrawals.
Battlestar Galactica of couse, which has already been mentioned above.
And as well as The Shield for obvious reasons.
I consider Grey's Anatomy one of the best shows on the air, better than Lost, and ABC's best show to date, but what's weird is that I don't feel that way about it.

My favorite shows right now (the ones I can't wait to see each week):
Battlestar Galactica: This is the best show on tv right now! Just an amazing series. Hate having to wait a week for the next one!! I want more NOW!
Lost: Great show. You just never know what will happen next here. Some great cliffhangers too.
Alias: Grr. ABC. First they cancel this series (it should last seven seasons, imo) and then they won't schedule the rest of the episodes!!! *sigh* If it wasn't for LOST and INVASION, I wouldn't even bother with ABC. I'm just really unhappy with the Alias situation! I want to see the rest of the episodes!!
Surface: I'm unhappy with NBC at the moment too, cause I have this feeling that they are going to cancel Surface (ending the season early was not a good sign...). I hate to say that, but I guess I need to prepare myself for it. Surface was definitly my favorite NEW show this season. Its like a really good big budget popcorn movie, week in and week out. Cool cliffhangers, lots of mystery, fun show. I am really going to hate it if NBC does cancel it...
24: The master of Cliffhangers. There's always a cliffhanger and your always wondering how Jack will get out of it. You do know he'll get out of it, but you wonder HOW. Just a really fun show. Jack is one of TV's best characters, imo.
Prison Break: GRRRR. ABC, NBC, and FOX are my LIST. Prison Break deserves MUCH better then this wait till March (well, at least it can say its scheduled..unlike Alias). Remember when I said 24 was the master of cliffhangers? Well this show is too. Yes, there are TWO masters! This show definitly keeps me on the edge of my seat. I want to see what happens next!!
Invasion: Orignally, this was just an ok show, but now it just keeps getting better and better with each episode. Its no Surface, but it is a really good show. An excellent companion series to LOST. I hope this show doesn't get canceled. There's just so much mystery and excellent characters to this one!
House: House is, imo, one of the best characters on TV (if not the best). Week and week out, I can't wait to see new episodes of this show...just to see what House will do or say next! :)
And those are my favorite shows! I watch others, but those are the ones I can't wait to see each week!

" I'm hoping for the best for Surface and Invasion...but I'm not opptimistic. I've gone through this whole 'getting attached to new sci-fi shows and thinking they will come back thing' too much. Especially with FOX..."

Since I went back to school, I have found I have practically no time for watching any TV anymore. I do my best to catch My Name Is Earl, The Office and Battlestar Galactica though.
Battlestar Galactica is the best show on TV, right now. I also dig 24, Lost, The Shield, Mythbusters and, returning on the 28th, The Amazing Race.
