I actually had to hold my breath before reading that. What a relief. Things seem to be getting rather interesting for Nightwing here.

Sweet, now all we need is confirmation the whole marriage thing with Babs is going bust OYL! Sorry, I'm one of the Kory/Dick fans :D

I think anyone who read "The New Teen Titans" way back in the early eighties is a Kory/Dick fan, myself included. IMO their relationship was a hell of a lot more interesting and less generic.

I do think that there is a big split between people who were introduced to Nightwing through New Teen Titans and through his own series. In general (although there are exceptions) NTT fans feel thatr Nightwing hasn't been treated right since he became a "Batman character," while Nightwing title fans dismiss everything that took place during the NTT's era due to how the Batoffice tended to dismiss everything from that era. Ideally, both eras should be acknowledged, yet not dwelled upon in order to move things forward but it seems that OYL is going to take things to the extreme by having two different Nightwings, a DCU Nightwing in Outsiders and a Bat Nightwing in his own title, making the separation stronger than ever.

It does seem that there are a lot of red herrings going on. I personally hope the wedding take place (besides I want to read about a happy marriage in a comic book) but something is going to happen to derail it but I really want is a writer who respects Nightwing's history and see him as a character who moved past feeling inferior to Batman, something I don't feel either Chuck Dixon or Devin Grayson has accomplished. Unfortunately, since the writers handling him OYL is Judd Winick and Bruce Jones, Nightwing is likely going to continue his stagnation as a character.

It's a pity because during the NTT's era he was my favorite character.

Having two Nightwings isn't such a bad idea. I wouldn't even mind it if somehow Dick was split into two people entirely, one who could hang out in the Outsiders/Titans world with Starfire and one who could appear in Batman with Barbara. Then everyone would be happy. I prefer him with Starfire myself, but I am a big Titans fan.

I do wonder if these authors are deliberately leaking false information to us. I swear there have been about a hundred different rumors/spoilers about what will happen to Batman, Nightwing, and Robin and a lot of them seem to contradict each other.

No --- he could be doing both jobs.....

No --- he could be doing both jobs.....

If that happens it could be very lame plot-wise. Nightwing's character and individuality might get messed up along the way in that arc.

'Wing!Dick is back with Outsiders!

Well, that's a step in the right direction - now lets see him reverse some of fhis other recent decisions, huh?

Like proposing to Babs.

And leaving Kory.

. . . Oh, have you realized what pairing I 'ship by now? :D

This is a excellent point that I never thought of. It certainly seems to apply to me. I've read every issue of the first volume of NTT, and not a single issue of Nightwing. It is probably no coincidence that I'm an ardent Dick/Kory 'shipper and have no sympathy for the Dick/Babs romance.

Yet even though I realize this now, I'd still rather see Dick dead than married to anyone other than Kory.

Excatly what I'm saying, I'm the same way big TNTT fan and a big Dick/Kory fan. I hate to say this but I hope this doesn't go through. Cant see it helping his character any.

OK - two Nightwings? I know no one knows anything for sure, but what's the deal with that? I'm a continuity guy and a fan of Nightwing. I planned on continuing collecting the Nightwing series OYL and Outsiders, if for no other reason than Nightwing is in it. By two nightwings... Are we assuming Dick in the Outsiders and Dick in the series with two continuities, or Dick in the Outsiders and another person as Nightwing in the series. Sorry if I'm a little behind the eight ball. What do we know, and what is rumored?

The other Nightwing is said to be Jason Todd.

Finally, we can put to rest the " Dick-takes up the Batman mantle" thing.

So true. So true.

But it makes you wonder how many questions that it opens up in that area.

Maleficentogre

as earlier spoke rumors point to jason todd being the other nightwing. No one really has any information speaking otherwise. With batman robin and possibly nightwing being gone for a year after crisis it would make sense that someone would pick up one of the three mask and jason is probably going to pick up nightwing because that seems to be his next step up or some bunk like that. Maybe the explosion knocked some morality into jason? I doubt it.
