They aren't all dead.

This appearance is to set up a new series in the future.

I'm thinking this coud be Chris Claremonts new book.......

Ah, yes that's possible. He could certainly do a good job of it.

Well I think it's definitly getting a new series at least, and Claremont has an unnanounced X-project.....

I hope the team gets a new series.Claremont would be a good for the book.At least we wouldn't get drivel like the last series was.

Ans whilst Alpha Flight has never been a mutants only club, it certainly has had the strongest of ties to the X-Books. I've always had a soft spot for Alpha Flight. It's been very unlucky in the past few years.

Yeah Alpha Flight is definitly considedered a X-book I'd say.

And this post by Bendis is very interesting :p

I can understand why people might not have liked the last series but I thought it was fun. It didn't take itself seriously it seemed. It was just a fun little trip down Alpha Flight lane.

Agreed. I kinda liked it.

I hope it does come back again, for a longer stint.

I'd love a new Alpha Flight series by Claremont, but most of the people who I'd want on the team were apparently killed in this issue. :(

Could be. I'd buy it! Although it'd kind of be like Chris Claremont is in exile.

Realistically, none of them are actually depicted with mortal wounds, like their heads lying 20 feet away from their shoulders or anything. They certainly know they've been in a fight, but a writer who wanted to use any of them could just say they were badly injured and in recovery.

Agreed. I doubt they're dead, it wasn't stated anywhere and it was kinda left ambiguos.

This isn't the first time Marvel has used some crazy ass play on words to get people to buy a book. I can't count how many times I've seen "<Insert characters name here>'s final battle!", or something of that sort, so I really wouldn't doubt if Marvel is doing this to get some hype going for a new series.

If they do launch a new book, I'll definitely buy the first several issues to see if I like it.

who was killed? No confirmation, but it looks like Guardian, Vindicator, Sasquatch, Shaman, Puck, Puck II, and Major Mapleleaf II.

Seriously, don't sweat it- they're not dead until someone officially pronounces over the bodies. Onslaught was the X-Men's "last stand" too, but I'm pretty sure I've still been reading about them for the last 10 years.

A new Alpha Flight series would indeed be interesting, at least one that wasn't treated like a joke like the horrible Vol. 3. As long as Sasquatch, Shamen, Puck, and Guardian survived, I'm happy. Those 'new' replacement characters weren't very interesting anyway. :)

Despite Sasquatch and puck , some of my favs dying i'm still happy , they went out in stylish way (thought some people might be angry it was off panel) , and helping established the "bad-assness" of a new Foe .

Besides it doesnt have to be permanent , it served its purpose , it not as if them resurrected , or one of them still breathing , would make the Collective less powerful .

Well, the thing that gets me is that the screen flashes and when it comes back, they're down. Meaning they got dealt w/ quick, someone able to do that has to be extremely powerful cause Guardian, Vindicator and Sasquatch can take a beating. So basically this guy should man handle even the Avengers, the only ones who could possibly take a walloping from him and keep standing would be Iron Man, Luke Cage and Wolverine, and even that is gonna require PIS.

If there was more of a fight, I could buy dudes power level, but as it is, the Avengers should get their asses handed to them.

The solution probably wont come from fighting , but science (or magic)

Exactly TinMan, it's going to turn into the 'Superman' scenario, I can see it now. The entire team will get their asses handed to them, and then Sentry will fly in and barely break a sweat defeating the Collective. :p

Oh yeah, I forgot the Sentry is actually gonna DO something now. Yep, this is just more of a chance to display the shear badassery that is The Sentry! Oh well, should be fun either way.

If Alpha Flight does come back in a new series who would you want on the team? For me I'd like to see as the main team:

Guaridan
Vindicator
Sasquatch
Puck
Snowbird
Shaman
Northstar
Aurora
Box

and maybe start up Beta Flight or Gamma Flight again with the other characters.

Cayman

Probably a pretty old skool team:

Guardian
Vindicator
Sasquatch
Puck
Snowbird
Northstar
Aurora
Talisman

I dunno about that cause as I recall Guardian and Vindicator are human and thier suits give them thier powers. Not to mention Walter is still Sasquatch, so he didn't lose his. So at that rate that theory doesn't jive.
