We recently got the news from Dan DiDio at WonderCon that Morrison was taking over as writer of Batman. During an interview with Morrison he revealed that the first 15 issues were done, and that the first story arc was titled "Batman & Son".

This is extremely interesting news IMO. The big question is, what does it mean.

1) Could this be related to Catwoman's baby that she will have during OYL?
2) Given some of continuity is coming back, could this be related to Talia and "The Son of the Demon" story?
3) Is this just a red-herring, and Batman will have no son?

Also, what would you like to see Batman's son do if he does have one? Become Robin, be normal, or just pushed out the way?

Before the Crisis,i belive Earth-2`s Batman and Catwoman had a daughter,Helena Wayne..the original Huntress? She should be brought back into continuity.

But Bruce and Talia`s son should also perhaps come back..Son Of The Demon was one of my favorite Elseworlds..

Isn't he too young to become anything besides a small kid/baby?

Eventually, if he does stay around, he should get his own identity, not become a new Robin. However, I seriously doubt DC will let Batman have a son in continuity...

Goes after the kid. Batman find out..dont want him corrupted..may actully want him to be a Regular kid

And thus a fight happens.

No son. Never. I can't imagine Bats with a son. How is he supposed to fight crime with a kid? I see a typical family scene:

Bats: I'm going to work!
Mom: But you promised to watch little Bruce Jr., dear!
Bats: Too bad, I have to fight crime! Maybe when I get back.
Mom ends up in house all day and night watching kid. Bats finally gets back but is cranky as hell.

Etc, etc.

Then again, Alfred could take care of the boy.

I hope its about bruce and drake. Tim did just lose his father and batman is the closest thing he's going to have to a father figure right about now.

Either you're confused, or I am. I thought Bats was going to be the father of a NEWBORN baby.

I am confused, but I could like and say that newborn was being used in a more figurative since of newborn character. my bad. don't I feel like a moron. i really don't like the idea of a kid though.

Hey man, we all make mistakes. :)

And I agree, I don't like the idea of a kid for Bats.

I'm thinking that "The Son of the Demon" story is back in continuity. Batman is suppose to be missing during 52, right? Maybe Batman finally found out about his and Talia son and spend that year looking for him.

My first thought was that Son of the Demon would be in-continuity. Didn't Morrison also mention that Talia is in his first issue?

Yes, I think so. Along with Bat-ninjas. :)

I thought of that too. Here's how it could play out: During Infinite Crisis, Batman gets severely injured during a battle with the Joker. Talia, realizing her beloved is on death's door, cures him after putting him into a Lazarus Pit. After Bruce recovers, Talia drops the bombshell that she had fathered Bruce's child and gave him up for adoption. Asking her why she never told him this until now, Talia responds it was to protect him, and she's only telling him now because she was afraid that she would lose him forever. This promts Bruce, along with Tim, to search for the enitre year (during 52 that is) for where his son could be. They find him in England and he's now the same age Bruce was when his parents were killed. Of course, Bruce doesn't tell him that he's his father, but a relative, and offers to take care of him back in the States. Later, in "Bruce & Son" Talia will try and kidnap her own kid to raise into the new Ra's Al Ghul.

No.

No kid for Batman.

Ever!

"Son of the Demon" was a good story and all, but it's set right where it should always be....

An Elseworlds story.

I doubt the Joker will be used at all. He doesn't have any major role in Infinite Crisis. That story of yours would work better if Batman battles the society not Joker.

The Joker will have a role in IC. He's definately covered.

This will probably mean another trip to the sci-fi closet and a reunion with Bruce Wayne jr., from the "Supersons" series in the old WORLD'S FINEST books.

I thought the only "son" he had was Dick, whom he legally adopted. Did he ever adopt Tim?

Maleficentogre

not legally not yet. tim's dad just died a few months ago and that means like a day ago in DC and I'm not sure bruce has had time to file all kinds of paperwork during crisis. That and Tim still has some family. Dick lost everyone he had so Tim might not get adopted. I don't think tim needs it as much.

I voted that Batman shouldnt have a son, but I always like the Epilogue from JLU. I'd pay to see Terry in mainstream canon comics.
