I have to say, that the first issue of this was actually pretty fun. While I thought it was a pretty cheap idea in the beginning, it's interesting to see them to pit ole Dracula against Lord Apocalypse. Plus it's cool to see those 15th Century versions of the Pocy's Dark Riders just cutting a path of death across the battlefield. And it does sorta reveal what Apocalypse was up to in England when he created Mr. Sinister. :)

Thanks for that interesting interview .

“We’re introducing new elements, characters and ideas into the Apocalypse mythos that will be carried on, not only in the Blood of Apocalypse, but beyond that.

“And after this series is over and done with, we also believe we’ve taken a big step into not only making Dracula into a viable character once more, but a real threat in the Marvel U once again.”

And i'll forever thank him for that . Both needed that kind of exposure . The last time Pocy got a bit of depth , was with Further adventures of Jean and Cyclops , and yet it wasnt really centered around him , but also the excellent yet often forgotten "Rise of Apocalypse" , about his Origins .
As for Dracula he clearly needs to step away from the Bella Lugosi look ..thats what really hurt him , and makes people goes "Duh ? Dracula and Apocalypse ? Why now Wolverine and the teletubbies then ? " .
Even with his silliest look , he was a quite deadly and pesky foe in Marvel books .

Does this mean we will get to see more of Clan Akkaba when this series is over?

I bought the first issue today, and I did enjoy it a great deal. Very fun. I first was interested just because it was such a "WTF?" kind of vs. battle, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it all did fit together nicely.

Glad to see that Dracula will be coming back in the Marvel universe, kind of sucked when he was banished off to the little Blade corner of the MU.

it was a decent issue.
the cover's an obvious homage to uncanny annual 6.

Loved the first issue. Fun stuff.

Jack Starsmore. Forebear of one Johnathon Starsmore? Does that make Chamber a decendant of Apocalypse in some way?

^someone informed me about that...I was told there was a "Starsmore" in the story, but not that he was related to Apocalypse. I wouldnt want Chamber related to Apoc, no. That be like Gambit being one of the Summers bro's. He'd stop being known for being Gambit(or Chamber for Chamber) & start being known as The Third Summer's Bro(or in Jono's case, the Descendant of Apoc)...

I'm somewhat intrigued by this "Clan Pocky Lips" concepts, I'll have to admit. But I have to say, I didn't like Drac's jazz-patch pretty boy look in the series - there was no sense of his rage arrogance and madness.

Then again - I'm a rabid Tomb of Dracula fanatic, so that's probably my problem here....
