What if the team of villains aren't the Ultimate "Winter Guard," or the Ultimate "Masters of Evil"...

What if they called themselves "The Avengers."

Wouldn't that be a clever twist on an old concept-- The name The Avengers is actually used to refer to the VILLAINS in the Ultimate universe. And could there be more fitting name for these guys? Just think about their reasons for attacking the US. Who knows what Millar has up his sleeve, but I thought it was an interesting idea.

That is all. Carry on...

I don't think Millar or Marvel has the nerve for that. And even if they would have, it's out of possibility now that "Ultimate Avengers" is being released.

Probably not, but that would be nifty.

That is a good idea. And a cool twist.

"The Avengers" was never that good a name for their 616 counterparts, in my opinion. They would have been more appropriate calling the Avengers "the Defenders" (and vice versa).

I like it.

And anything's better than "masters of evil".

Oh, Millar definitely has the nerve for it. Marvel? Probably not.

I like it.

And anything's better than "masters of evil".That's the problem with a team of villains using the term evil.

I'm sure these guys think they're pretty righteous. As do the 616 Magneto and Red Skull. I can only imagine a group of villains realistically using "evil" in their name in a tongue and cheek way.
