Which do you like better- X-Men or Uncanny X-Men and for what reasons (though I knew you'd post those anyway).

I'm just wondering if one is a bit more interesting than the other right now.

I love the mutants adventures, so I subscribed to both, so as to not miss anything huge- Apocalypse, power-ups or in cases I've heard depower, Shi'ar (who I know just decimated the Grey family), etc..

Neither until July. Wait for the new creative teams to take over.

In the meantime, Astonishing starts back up next week.

Eh, it really depends on the month. Thinking back, both have been fairly hit and miss with different circumstances and his and lows for both.

With everything in account, I'm going with X-Men.

At present I buy both, but if you want my opinion then sure:

Uncanny: I prefer more. It remains THE X-Men title, with characters I like/am more interested in. By and large I prefer the writing (Although Dino-Rachel - not so good?). And on recent form, Mojo, Season of the Witch, Greys End, it provided me with stories I was actually interested in and gave a shit about.

X-Men: I prefer less, despite featuring several characters I really like (Havoc, Rogue, Iceman). The current storyline I am interested in, although it does graste slightly, but in the same time space as used in my uncvanny examples the storylines have not really offered me anything interesting or new, in way of character development or plot. The writing has often seemed laboured stretching two issues worth of story over 3-4 issues. Sure Greys end was three issues - but it WAS fast paced. The post House of M issues of X-Men dragged, with very little actually happening.

X-men.

Because I don't like Claremont's dialogue, and his focus on Rachel, who I don't really like.

I also don't like how it takes so long to resolve plot points.

X-Men.

Because I'm all for the Daap - Polaris bonding.

Gotta agree with Jake here.

As if I am ever unreasonable.

I'm just not impressed with Claremont or Milligan right now. I'm looking forward to Brubaker. I love his other work. I wish he could have the freedom with the X-men that he had with the Authority in terms of what he can do and say, but X isn't a mature readers title.

And please, dude, a crazy woman bonding with a snotglob? I think I saw that in a tabloid a few months ago: "Woman has Booger's baby....and it looks HUMAN!!!!"

I don't have to have a point.

Although Jerry Springer is more insightful and thought provoking than Milligan's work.

Uncanny X-Men is currently tops. X-Men, is, quite lame right now.

Neither. I do not like either creative teams on the books. I will give them another chance when everything switches up.

Astonishing is my favorite right now. Even when taking a break, then quality of this book still outshines the other two.

Since the completely awful dino story ended, Uncanny has been on what I believe is its best run Age of Apocolypse. And I love Rachel. :D

X-men right now is the single worst run of any X-book, maybe any comic, I've ever read and I thought nothing could ever be worse than Poptopia. If Milligan wasn't leaving I would have dropped this book. I was all set to drop it til I found out Carey was taking over so now I'll keep it just to keep the run intact.

I have high hopes for the new creative teams for both these titles. I do however have some concern for Astonishing when Whedon's tenure ends.

Both are good right now , but both were incredible crap the previous month as well .

O know what you mean. Milligan's Apocalypse arc, so far, shows some real promise. It's almost a shame. Too little, too late.

Agreed. What Lorna Saw/Blood of Apocalypse and End Of Greys/Wand'ring Star have been pretty good IMO.

I think X-Men is superior.

Because it's got Doop in it.
And Milligan's tongue-in-cheek writing is by far preferable to Claremont's IMO.

Uncanny has been frickin good these past few months and middling to average before that.

X-men has been poor all through Milligans run, although the current Blood of Apocalypse arc looks promising.

Apocalypse Now Then!

Uncanny. No contest really.

Milligan's writing is bland. I always get the feeling that he's trying to be funny, but yet he's never actually anywhere near.

It's like private little jokes, to people who read X-Statix, and very little else. His story arcs have simply not impressed me.

I'm not saying Claremont's Uncanny is anywhere near flawless, but I enjoy it. A lot more.

Uncanny.

It's been really great in recent months. It has Nightcrawler. And it isn't trying to pass off blandness and two dimensional character work under a thinly veiled claim of being 'witty'.

Oh yeah, that's right. It has Kurt standing there in the back. If only, you know...CC remembered that he's writing a team book. ;)

Peter Milligan's X-Men is one of the worst X-Men (not just the core books, but all ongoing X-titles since 1963) runs of all time.

Actually it had , at some time , a possible nice Rachel/Kurt pairing , but so far it didnt lead into anything serious .

Uncanny is by far the lesser of the evils right now.

The /only/ reasons I'm able to talk myself into getting adjectiveless again are for the return of Apocalypse and the art.

I dropped X-Men, although I am reading the Apocalypse story to see what happens. I'm not staying with the book.

Uncanny X-Men is one the few books I look forward to every month.

Kurt appeared quite a bit in Grey's End and also in the last issue. How did you miss this?

I think what he means is that the rest of the "cast" have basically been limited to supporting or background roles for quite some time now.
