There is life. :D And there may be more movies or maybe even a season II.

(this is from the chat transcripts and by Kristin who more often than not has things right)

I've heard the CW is considering bringing it back as a series, miniseries or movie for next season. Hurrah! For you who missed my message board posting, on Tuesday, Nate Fillion, Summer Glau and Gina Torres were seen coming out of one of the exec buildings at Paramount, where they are putting together the new CW unit

I don't think it's likely. Those actors could just be auditioning for different shows.

Yeah, that's probably the case. Now if those 3 plus Joss Weadon had been seen exiting together....

He's so funny. I love watching Buffy commentary when he's doing it.

Never saw THAT coming...

I think a general rule of thumb should be, if it's not from him, then it's NOT happening. He'll announce something when the time is right if there's something to announce. Otherwise, cripes, I've never seen such a group of people grasping at such straws before!

(It's not like the show and movie ended in a nailbiting cliffhanger or anything!)

At least its very likely the Spike project will happen. James Marsters has verbally told Joss many times he's up for it. And I've seen recent interviews with Amy Acker and Alyson Hannigan who have also said they've had conversations with Joss about it and seem excited. I'll cross my fingers that when it does happen (its almost certainly going to a movie or mini series - not an actual series) that it somehow spins off a new TV series of some sort.

Allyson Hannigan is currently ON a TV show though - How I Met Your Mother, unless it got axed and I've missed something.

TV shows don't film all year long, lots of TV stars do side projects during the interims. And the Spike project whatever it may be is only going to be a movie or miniseries at most so it won't take a big commitment.

And right now its all just talk. Nothing is on paper. Basically its just Joss talking with the main characters to see who might be interested and who isn't. Alyson merely said that she would be interested if it happens. When it comes time to do it, Joss may decide that Willow doesn't even fit the project although I'd think since it might be the last hurrah for all things Buffy / Angel he'd try to get all the big names back he could.

She also did a guest stint on Veronica Mars this year. And she has a movie coming out this week.

I'm not saying a Willow movie is in the works but if one was she could find time to do it.
