interesting news on various X-Titles (spoilers)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

The Uncanny X-Men portion of the call was pretty brief. Basically there will be seven core cast members, with fifteen to sixteen X-Men overall in the mansion. Let's see, we know about Nightcrawler, Havok, Marvelgirl and Warpath who will the other 3 be???

New X-Men: In addition, there will be about twenty to thirty students, and that's not including the thirty or so of the 198 who will be seeking sanctuary at the Xavier mansion. The focus will basically be on taking the students and pushing them into the forefront of the human/mutant war. William Stryker is going to be the major villain, with no one else planned at the time as far as villains are concerned. Former mutant students who are now human will continue to have to deal with their friends and classmates who still have their powers and.... Cannonball and other older characters will be featured down the line.

Issues #23 and #24 will be the turning point for the students. A major event is to occur in #23 that sets the tone for the book. They'll be dealing with the fallout in #24, and again, this will be a push towards having the students be combat-ready. Well if we look at the preview we know what it is...


·The ultimate goal is to establish the characters not only in the X-Universe, but the Marvel Universe as a whole. The writers really want these characters to be a part of everything that happens in Marvel and have their own fanbases developing

NOW, prepare to be shocked!!!!!

But most shoking, if you look at the previewpages of New X-Men #24, one of the students will die!!!!!!!! It isn't Mercury, Hellion, Elixer, Wallflower, Rockslide, Dust, Anole or Surge, since they all appear. My guess it's Wither or Icarus, because they are both former Hellions and we see all the Hellions really hurting badly.

If they kill off Icarus I'll be mad. They should kill off Tag, or Anole, or Rockslide.

I hope Wither & Icarus will be ok...I think its Wither though, if it were Icarus wouldnt we see Husk & Sam in the front there? :(

if older characters like Sam will appear later do they mean just other New Mutants? other X-Men? wonder if this is where we'll be seeing Chamber again?

Good news about the Uncanny roster, I guess.

I think Brian is the student who will die. He's close to both Santo and Julian, so his death would make for a larger overall impact and would drive home the point that depowered students are in danger if they stay at the school.

It was on Buzzcope when I placed this, but now it's gone.

You could see a funaral with the cast of Academy X and some X-Men (Beast, Frost, Cyke) The Hellions are thinking about what happened before with flashbacks from these 4 Hellions in a battle (Dust, Rockslide, Hellion and Mercury) where apartently a member of the Academy died.

Since the spotlight is on those 4 Hellions, my guess is a former Hellion died. If you look at the cover of #23 you can see Wither is in trouble and we saw Icarus in trouble too. That's why I guess is one of them, not Tag.

So it's probably Wither...since Icarus "defected" from the Hellions to join the New Mutants...I think the focus would be more on former New Mutants memebers if Icarus died.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too sorry to see either of these characters go. The whole Wither thing has been done with Rogue before, so I would like to avoid 20 more years of "i can't touch anyone!" angst. And Jay, well...he just doesn't do too much for me. I could live with it if he died...we could see Paige and Sam react..and isn't there another Guthrie in the school? Still powered?

My bet's on wither too, seeing as how Cessilly is seen crying first. Poor dude. Woulda made a great horseman. The art's looking amazing though. I'm impressed.

There is even more than first now.

I like the scene where they are all fighting. This is the first time I see Indra using his powers. He's like a rhino, cool....!

Also at the shot of all the students (4th picture where Match is in the front) we see a new mautant I've never seen before, the afro american looking guy with partly iron face. Does anyone know him????

If you take a good look you'll now know these students still have their powers of which most of us did not know their status for 100% sure: Loa, Indra, Wolfcub, Trance (why?), Hisako, Ernst, Pixie and Anole. Do any of you notice another?

The guy is new and called Techno, they didn't reveal yet what his powers are. But the name kind of says it I guess.
