I picked up a mess of Weird Western Tales recently. I had never really read many of DC's western heroes. I am huge fan of Marvel's western heroes.
The first issue I read was Weird Western Tales #13 (published in 1972). It was the best comic book I have read in quite some time. The Jonah Hex story was great (a little contrived) with beautiful art by Tony DeZuniga (who also added the cover).
But what really caught my attention was the El Diablo story by Cary Bates/Neal Adams. Adams art was superb and the story tremendous. El DIablo is an interesting character and this story just makes me want to learn more about him.
Hopefully, I didn't get spoiled by this issue and start with the best.
