I'm linking to a thread in another forum. Someone got hold of a book that Nintendo printed for recruitment purposes. The scans show the Revolution back end and the evolution of the controller as well as some other interesting things.
Check it out! (http://ga-forum.com/revback.html)

The black one looks nice and slick. I like the white one too, but I think the black would be better. I want to see some games for this baby, and am thankful its backwards compatible. Isn't it?

It's been stated that it will be backwards compatible with GameCube games.
Nintendo has revealed that Revolution will be backward compatible with GameCube, play both GCN discs and proprietary new 12cm discs, go online via Wi-Fi connections, be able to download software from the Internet, use 512MB flash memory to save data, and feature wireless controllers.

Thanks for the info. That makes the Revolution a must buy for me, and I don't lose out on old games.

Nope. They are on mini-DVDs. A proprietory Ninty format (Ninty has to give up the whole proprietory format thing. It killed the N64 and gamecube)

Oddly enough, Sony's infamous for its proprietary-format love elsewhere... ex. ATRAC, Memory Stick.

That's a good point now that you mention it! I can imagine the slot loader chewing around GC discs like chewing gum.

Now that's a nasty nightmare. More than likely a way to get you to buy new disks. I could imagine a possible class-action lawsuit against Nintendo for that one.
