Does anyone here use Showcase Sealers on their vintage comic books? I bought a few to use on my favorite issues and was very pleased, but was also concerned that I don't see them around much. Are there drawbacks to using them that I should know about?

I don't know what they are. Got a pic/link?

I don't have a pic, but they're hard cases that look similar to the CGC casing, only without the top part for a label. They're not permanantly sealed either, and can be opened and closed with ease.

As long as the material is inert and not reacting with the paper (archival quality), I can't think of any other downside.

I have no idea whether or not it's archival quality. I know it's not UV protective (so I keep them away from constant sunlight), but what other "archival" qualities should I be concerned about?

Figure out who the manufacturer is and send them an email. Then you'll know.

According to a web page I saw yesterday, they were made by the ubiquitous Bill Cole.

at first i read the header as showcase sTealers. the things are so thick -- 500-plus pages each -- that i doubt they could easily be fliched, though i guess during the winter you wouldn't look at all out of place wearing a bulky coat ...
