I had such high hopes for the thing.
Then it started shipping late. Then not at all.
Then it got a new artist.
Then another.
I think there's even another artist coming on board too.
wtf???
Dude, I was all over this series when it started...
sad.

From what I've read over at the Image board, it sounds like they're getting everything together. Juan Ferreyra (from Small Gods) took over art with issue 16, which was just released and sold out, he's already working on #18. So they seem to be getting back on track with the schedule.
As for another artist after Juan, not that I've heard. They are going to have a guest artist on a cover coming up (I forget who...)

I haven’t read it myself, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Things happen sometimes that just can’t be controlled, but if you’ve been a fan of the book you should stick with it. The new artist, Juan Ferreyra, is a first rate talent. By the way #16, his first issue I believe, sold out. You might still be able to get it online (http://www.imagecomics.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=12693) if you don’t have it. :)

This is another series that seems to take its own sweet time to come out (Fell!?). I mean, it is hard to keep up with the stories when issues come out inconsistantly (or in this case not at all). And with a change in artists every few issues, it is hard to keep your bearings. I'm still willing to give it a chance if it will just fucking show up on the stands.

Fell is late? Aside from taking a scheduled one month off, I thought this book was on time, so far.
Rex Mundi is an excellent book, but it's always been a slower book. But, Juan Ferreyra is extremely talented and I think his speed will enable the book to come out more frequently.

Ah. It is good to hear that there may be some punctuality on RM soon.

If he was the artist on this last issue, I was less than impressed.
My main concern is that this Arvid guy is running all the artists away. He says he loves EricJ and then he fires him. The next guy comes on, again, Arvid loves him. He stays an issue - Gone.
What is up?

Apparently some artists have problems with getting punched in the face. Personally, I just don't get it. Nothing gets my creative juices flowing like a good punch in the face from Arvid Nelson.

Is Nelson a hitter? Domestic violence has no place in the comic industry.

The shipping problem was basically that the book's creators had to take day jobs in order to pay for the publication costs of the comic. A ton of readers said the book looks good, but I'll wait for the trades. Problem was not enough people were buying the regular comics to pay for the publication of the trade.
Rex Mundi really is a great book and is worth the wait. Hopefully the wait will be a little shorter now.

Ok, rumor control time --
1. Rex Mundi is finally on schedule. Issues 14, 15, and 16 were all on time. I can also tell you that, barring an act of vengful God, Issue 17 will be too. March 29th. I'm hoping the delays are a thing of the past.
2. Juan Ferreyra is the current artist -- yes, he's the third, I and hope he's the last because he's terrific and I love working with him.
I take exception to the suggestion I "scared away" Eric or Jim, the first two artists for Rex Mundi. Eric and Jim are great guys, they just had other priorities. That's all. It was hard on me and on Rex Mundi both times, but I recovered. It's really possible for two people to separate on amicable terms. It's really possible I'm telling the truth when I say I love Eric and Jim and I wish them luck (not that they need luck).
It doesn't help Rex Mundi when people spread uninformed conjectures.
If I seem a little bit punchy, it's because I am. I'm not going to neccessarily apologize, but to contextualize this post I will say that I've gotten a total of 10 hours of sleep this week just so Issue 17 wouldn't be late. I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for me -- only understand I'm working really, really hard to make sure Rex Mundi comes out on time.
In other news, Issue 16 sold out in less than a week. In other words, Rex Mundi is going really strong. It is not going away.

Well, that and the fact that I chained them to a radiator in a windowless basement, forcing them to subsist on cockroaches and moldly water condensed on rusty pipes for six months. WTF?

I loved Rex Mundi, but do to money situations I decided to stop getting it at issue 10 (there were other books I stopped getting, not just Rex).
Arvid, what you have written here makes me regret that decision. I'm glad it's getting back on track, and I'll make sure to get back into it. As a comic fan and comic buyer you will have my support once again. Just, give me a little time to get the issues I missed. :D

Been on board since issue 1 and I'm staying on for the long haul. In today's comic world, getting upset over late books is just not worth it. It's part of the business, and it was easier for me to just get used to it than to stress over it or drop books over it. Why drop the late books if they're good? It'll pay off in the end if you just stick with it.
BTW, loving this book, Arvid. Stay strong!

If there was any justice in this world, this book would replace Da Vinci Code.
Excellent, and I look forward to reading more of it!

Arvid, just wanted to offer my support and encouragement to keep at it. I love Rex Mundi and am glad to hear it's not going away.

Wow. Wow. Shucks, thanks guys -- this really means a lot to me, to know that so many people like Rex Mundi. I've said it before and I will again -- I'll keep doing Rex Mundi until they cancel me.
This really gives me the motivation I need to keep going. Sales all around have been really good, and Juan is an absolute godsend...
So expect some REALLY fun issues coming up! I mean it, the story is getting into gear now, FINALLY after, what, six years?

So, I went and ordered issues 11, 12, 13 ,14, and 16 thru the Rex Mundi website (they're shipped and on the way), but no issue 15? CRAP! Well, I'm lucky to have 5 comic stores within an hours drive of me(one may be an hour and half). Hopefuly one of them will have an issue 15. :D :D

Ever since Eric J left the book, I have lost interest in it.
