Whats the deal on Cable/Deadpool considering one of those characters futures according to spoilers? We know it's safe through #36. Beyond that . . . I haven't heard anything.

And, really, it's not as if characters can only be in one book.

Howling Commandos?

Yes, thatīs definite. Now, I donīt care.
Thereīs too much Fury anyway throughout the whole MU.

My understanding was that THE PULSE isn't being cancelled--but is simply going on hiatus until the new creative team is ready.

That was the announcement, although Quesada was somewhat vague on the title's eventual return.

Going on "hiatus" isn't good for a monthly book. Furthermore, treating the comic book industry as synonymous with television is just bad thinking from Marvel.

The Pulse was never a montly book, it was bi-monthly. And it's going on hiatus due to Bendis being done with the storyline that he wanted to tell with it, and Marvel not having a good direction for the book at the moment. It was originally going to continue from the end of Generation M, starring that reporter and written by Paul Jenkins. But it's likely sales of Generation M arn't what Marvel was hoping for and are waiting for a better idea. Which is a better idea than Marvel churning out another sub-par book, just because they can.

Since PULSE wasn't a montly book in the first place, that's won't be a problem. ;)

Perhaps, but I don't necessarily think that's what they're doing here. They are just putting the project on-hold until the creators are available. To me, that makes a lot more sense than starting the book and having huge gaps between issues because the creators are too busy to meet deadlines.

In any case, putting the book on hiatus until the creative team is ready is not exactly the same thing as a cancellation, which was my original point. :)

Putting any project on hold that has been out in the public already is not good either. It's as if Marvel wants the book both ways to be cancelled & not cancelled when the book goes on hiatus. Again, this seems to be more of an editorial problem than a creator problem. If the editors were doing their jobs, they would have a plab B, plan C, & plan D for the book.

Going on hiatus tells me the editors have no plan B when plan A fails.

Not everything is the fault of the big bad boogie man editors, DDM. Either sales of Generation M are making them rethink the new direction for the book, or Paul Jenkins isn't capable of picking it up right now. It would be pretty damn silly to relaunch the book with a fill-in writer, if Jenkins is still planning to come on board at some time. And no, most of the time when a book goes on hiatus it's a creative issue. Astonishing X-Men, Ultimate Secret, Ultimates. Nothing has failed, they're just putting the book on hiatus until everything synchs up.

In Joe Fridays, Joe said that the instead of going to The Pulse Jenkins will be getting another mini like Generation M that is tied into Civil War... and then most likely go onto The Pulse. They don't want to stick someone else on the book though so their holding it.

And itīs rumoured, that The Sentry perhaps goes ongoing. More work for Jenkins.

Was Amazing Fantasy canceled?? It had that "Final Issue" stamp on the cover of issue #20 in the Marvel Previews. But since this is the final issue of the storyline, I didn't know if it was for that.

Was Amazing Fantasy canceled?Yep. It was confirmed a few weeks ago (in a Joe Friday, I think).

Sales were really bad.

The game is quite different today than it was back in the day.

These days, putting a title on hiatus and launching a "season 2" equals more interest and higher sales. As evidence by Runaways and She-Hulk.
Delays are annoying, but they don't seem to effect the sales of titles, and good old fashioned anthologies like Amazing Fantasy just don't hold up anymore.

Mini-series and musical creative teams are the order of the day, and it ain't just Marvel.
It's interesting to watch.

Yeah the era of the continuous book seems to be nearing an end.
