Reading the underrated horror threard inspired the creation of this one.
Let's go back to a time, the 80s, when USA Network was brandnew and between the six hours that Cartoon Express was on and watching the Mega Powers win the WWE tag belts, we could kill time by watching this trifecta of B, C, & D movies shows.
What are some of your favorite shows from any of these programs? I distinctly remember a horror flick called "Child's Play" about a family that was caught in their house and didn't know why. In the end, you find out they are dolls on an alien world or something and they are inside a giant dollhouse.
Another one was a teenage nerd sex romp called "Getting Lucky" about a nerd that finds a lepercaun in a beer bottle. He uses his wishes to not very great results. But he does end up giving the girl he likes a giant orgasm in the middle of class when he's accidentally shrunk down and caught in her panties.
Share some of your favs and educate the poor kids who have no idea what I'm talking about :D

My favorite USA Up All Night films include Vampire on Bikini Beach, and another Vampire flick starring Maxwell Caulfield whose title escapes me.....ah for those days when I would come home drunk at 3 am and fall asleep to some horrendous flick hosted by Gottfried or Rhonda Shear!

This was an episode of a syndicated anthology called HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR (IIRC). They used the anthology because it let them fill the rest of the 2 hour block with Commander USA comedy.
It was a pretty funny show. Their UP ALL NIGHT series of films were best when Gilbert Gottfried was hosting them.
Other great horror film hosts I have seen and enjoyed:
Zacherley (NYC/NJ)
Sammy Terry (in Terre Haute, IN)
Seymour (LA)
Grimsley (post-Seymour/pre-Elvira; my personal fave of the LA horror hosts)
MST3K started as monster show hosts but very rapidly evolved into something entirely different. I've only seen one pre-cable episode but it wasn't 1/10th of what it became when it graduated to the Comedy Channel (predecessor to Comedy Central).

To be honest, I can't remember any films showcased by USA's Up All Night, other than the annoying Gilbert Gottfried and Rhonda Shear's bust.

I also remember another movie about these monster road warrior guys that can be hurt by water. I don't remember the name and the only thing I do remember is they attack a school dance and one girl gets shot with a crossbow through the back of the neck and the bolt came out her mouth.
Why can't USA still be this awesome?

I used to watch USA Up All Night.
I guess my favorite movie that they showed was "Chopping Mall". That's the one I can best remember. A bunch of teens stay overnight in a mall for a party and end up getting hacked/slashed.
Every now and then they would show classics like "Night of the Comet" or "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" or movies like "The Wraith".
I liked watching Rhonda Shear on Friday nights. I hated watching and listening to Gilbert Gottfried on Saturday nights.

Yes!!! I remember the show with the dollhouse. It turned out the little brother had put the sister's dollhouse in the oven with a candy bar in the chimney and the people "dolls" were trapped with shit coming down the chimney and roasting alive. That was awesome!!! Please sign this petition and tell your friends to bring Saturday Nightmares back so I can forward it to USA!!!

I remember this movie with an organ grinder type monkey toy and the toy had two symbols. Well the toy would slam the symbols together and everytime it did something bad happened. Eventually it started killing people.

mostervision was the shit!,i loved joe bob briggs.i remember monstervision the most because of all the ray harryhausen flicks.and obscure horror films like the night of the comet (kudos to the person that mentioned this),the prophecy (about the mutant bear),blood diner, killer klowns from out of space, critters, phantasim,.
the only reason i remember all of the USA/TBS shows is because all of the movie always was about killer bugs/rodents/reptiles or whatever.things like killer rats, slugs, ants, cats, dogs, roaches and shit like that.

Those were fun days!
This thread reminded me of some local stuff out of Philly back in the late '70s or early '80s. I think it was on Saturdays we always had the "Creature Double-Feature" on either Channel 17 or 48? Can't remember. But I was able to watch it on the B&W in my bedroom. God, I don't think we even had cable yet.
And then there was a late-night horror show called Saturday Night Dead, which aired after SNL, hosted by an Elvira-esque woman out of Manayunk named Stella, "the man-eater from Manayunk".

And don't forget Bruce Dern as host for Lost Drive-In. the movie show that was on Speedvision, and showed all race-car movies.
And out of Sacramento there is still Cinema Insomnia, host is Mr. Lobo and it shows public domain films.

Joe bob was the king. Especially when he was on cinemax and could curse and say what he wanted.

Ahh, the memories...
Linnea Quigley and co...
Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0096142/)
Polish Vampire in Burbank (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0089823/)
I caught Chopping Mall on Cinemax a while back. Good times.
Was Commander USA the old cigar-chomper that hosted the Kung-Fu movies on Sunday? Those are the ones I REALLY miss...:(

'Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama' is my favorite title for a movie ever.
