I just finished playing Gun for the Xbox which is 3rd person wild west beat-em-up shooter. The plot is simple, you were raised by a hippie who likes guns, hippie gets killed and you go out to avenge said hippie while discovering all about your true self.

This game was short though, maybe 7 hours max if you don't do any side missions but I finished it in one evening with all the sidemissions and it took me maybe 12 hours. Here's what I learned about the West:

-The entire West is composed of two cities with one ranch in between them.
-Going from Connecticut to Kansas takes roughly 5 minutes on foot and around 2 minutes with a horse.
-The Rocky Mountains can be climbed in 5 seconds
-Killing Indians is fine because they'll forgive you. I saved 5 Indians in the turning point of the game and that excused me from killing over 50 in previous missions
-Whores are people too
-People with one eye have an amazing shot
-Only Chinamen start city riots

This game has no replay value though which sucks. I have everything unlocked now but nothing to do except ride into one of the 2 towns and kill innocents but that has worn off

A very average game

I thought about buying this one at Best Buy the other day (it was only $20). Except I'd heard how short and not really good this game was. The cover looks cool, though.

It's a one day rental at best.

There's some funny parts like shooting a dynamite arrow at someone's ass and watching them run and explode and grabbing a whore and kicking her into a piano like I accidentally did, but it is short.

Oh something else I forgot:
-Every Chinese person is an opium dealer. All of them. If you read a wanted poster and their name sounds like you dropped some silverware, he's wanted for tainted opium

I bought this'un for $30, and paid $29 too much.

Beat it in a few hours (stayed away from side missions), had problems with the disc freezing, and only stayed around until the end just so I'd never have to look at it, again.

Another thing I learned is that RED DEAD REVOLVER is a much, much better oater.

At least it wasn't $60 like the marginally better XB360 version.

This was one of the games that came bundled with my X360 and I just traded it in for DoA4

never even opened it

I am so glad I did not even bother with this game.

Gun was a great play!! You use the side missions to upgrade your skills and get more cash for more powerful weaponry, etc. By the time you get to the end of the game you are an absolute badass. The quickdraw option was great and I loved the expansive world. That and the music made it a hell of a lot of fun to play. Especially if you are a western fan. But yeah, it is definately a rental. One play does it all. I give it a solid B.

I thought it was a fine game for what it was. Lots of potential in it, though, if they can improve the side missions + make a bigger/more interactive world.

But I thought it was fun. The last mission was ridiculously hard though.

It took me an hour to figure out how to kill MacGuder. After I figured it out, he had no chance. But he tore me to ribbons for a good while. One eyed bastard.
