This really doesn't have anything to do with classic comics, but I wanted to note the passing of one of the most creative and original young artists in comics: http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=6562 .

If any of you are fan of newer comics (which are not necessarily "dark" or "gratuitously violent"), I would recommend Fisher's run on Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight (issues 192-196, titled "Snow") or his Green Lantern graphic novel Willworld without reservations.

His website is at http://www.floweringnose.com/.

This is quite a shock. I just discovered his work last year when I saw an issue of "Snow" at my LCS. His work was so completely different from everything else on the rack, and bursting with ideas and detail. I was looking forward to collecting years' worth of his upcoming work. :(

I just read that at Newarama. Sad news, indeed.

Very sad news - I didn't like the execution of FF/Iron Man: Big in Japan, but thought that the art was amazing.

I really liked his work. It had a unique weird/cuddly vibe to it. It seems that he was just starting to get popular in the comics field too.

'tis a crying shame that Seth Fisher died so young. His work reminded me a bit of Moebius crossed with Geof Darrow, but a cleaner line.
