So, I'm at Barnes & Nobles looking for some manga when I see this series shrink wrapped with a mature warning label on it. Looking at the name I figure it some kind of Pokemon/Digimon/Monster Rancher/etc. kind of deal, but I could't get around the mature warning label (if it's what it sounds like, how mature could it be I figured), and then I see it's put out by CMX, which confused the hell out of me.

If CMX wouldn't put out an unedited version of Tenjho Tenge, what's so explicit about this series that they have to shrink wrap and put a warning on it? I'm wondering if it's the English title of this series I've heard about called Chaosic Rune, or what?

That's the odd thing about CMX and Tenjho Tenge. It's the ONLY property that they bothered editing. They didn't touch any of the other stuff, even with the content in it. Shoot, half of their 16+ to Mature titles don't even come shrinkwrapped. It just boggles the mind.

Yup. That's due to some odd licensing agreement they had over the Tengo Tenge manga. Apparently they've only since been picking up titles that it's okay to slap a mature label on. Everythingelse is unedited. The how's and why's of the edited Tengo Tenge seem to be something they can't divulge.

Anyhoo, they're releasing Moon Child and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, and lots of 70's Shoujo manga. Which is very cool of them.
