No, I can't because I've never read Cyberforce in my life. I'm totally new to it.

Having said that.... the new series is out now. Who's read it? Did you like it? Why or why not? Is it good for newbies?

I'm excited to hear some opinions. I've read a review or two, but I'm wondering what anyone on this board thinks.

I've never read cyberforce in my life, but I found this issue to be very easy to get into. If you've read cyberforce before you might get more out of it but, I dont think you need to know anything coming to this issue. the writing is pretty good and I really dig the art. A solid issue overall, You should pick it up!

For answer to that you should check out the Cyberforce story in Image Anniversary Hardcover (which will also be released again as Cyberforce Vol. 3 #0, coming out in June) and JLA/Cyberforce crossover.

I'm still waiting for my copy of Cyberforce #1 and I'll let everyone know what I think once it arrives.

bought the issue for nostalgia, and pretty sure i loved pat lee.

well i got it, opened it read it. and.. was dissapointed. the story is very 90's, which is fine, I have no problem with that. But the art... What happened to pat? drawing all those robots must have made him forget about people!
I was let down.

I didn't feel let down at all. Of course, a lot of people are complaining about the art. Sure, Pat seems not to care too much about proper anatomy, but I think it's just strange enough to feel idiosyncratic and different.

The writing is really good. I found it to be very character and dialogue-oriented. Surprising, when you consider the fact that this comic comes from the uber-violent early 90's. I found myself interested in these characters, their background, and their story, which I wasn't expecting since I knew nothing about them and I was predicting a very by-the-numbers action book. Plus, you can't get any better than the last panel. That was surprising and a great introduction to the Ripclaw character.

I'm definitely going to be back. I'm sure the next issue will be more action-oriented and probably sell even more copies. Ron has hooked me in the first issue and stories of Pat Lee's lousy art have been greatly exaggerated. (To read opinons online, you would think Pat drew the whole thing with crayons and two broken hands.)

I'm a new Cyberforce reader. Count me in.

have you seen his old stuff at DW? Darkminds and Transformers, were tight, although that marvel knights wolverine and punisher hurt. maybe he can only draw when he's working for himself.

I would be surprised if he didn't have broken hands.

I really loved the first issue. It was really new reader friendly and explained nicely what happened to the team. Pat Lee isn't one of my favorite artist, but his art isn't that terrible either.

Can't wait for #2. :)

Got the new one. Didn't really care for the art, or did I get to used to the 90's "pretty, pretty" art the old series had. :D The end confuzilated me a bit. I have learned enough that Robert died and turned in to mr. psyco robot dude from reading JLA/ Cyberforce. Still havn't picked up the 10th ann of Image to get the whole story. Thanks all. :D

Just picked up the first two issues, not because I followed the series in the 1990's (I'm 18 now, so I was around four when Image launched), but because I dig Ron Marz work on Witchblade.

He has taken that title from mere 90's excess, badgirl cheesecake to a character-driven cop drama with a supernatural twist. I wanted to see what he could do with a 90's ultra-violent X-Men ripoff.

The backstory was summed up well in the little blurb in the beginning of issue one, still the CF continuity is quite convoluted. However, I was able to dive into these issues and they were relatively well-written. We get a feel for each character, and their interactions with one another ground the heavy action within these issues.

I found the fight scenes to be the most uninteresting of the book, as I felt Marz had such a great knack for making this team feel true with their dialogue. Pat Lee's art looked great...when drawing battle ships and tech. People, however, are a downfall. His anatomy is quite distorted and he doesn't do consistency with character features well. His backgrounds are quite detailed, yet his linework for the people look ill-fitted to the backgrounds, as if they were drawn over them.

I will be back for #3 solely on the strength of Marz's scripts, though Lee's art isn't horrible, just sloppy. I would love to see Marc Silvestri come back to this title.
