Just wondering, cause we ate dinner earlier at an incredible Middle Eastern Restaurant (http://www.araratrestaurant.net. . and we have had the most incredible farts.

yeah. . it's funny. . and thank god they don't really smell.

but I've never reacted this way to tabulee (or Tabouli. . as I always spelled it).

I mean, yeah, I had Baba Ganouj too. .and granted, that one has eggplant in it -- but Nick didn't have any of *that*.. so it had to be the tabulee.

(all that is, is wheat).. . so what's making us gassy?

My guess would be either the bulghur or the type of oils used in it. Or maybe yellow fear monsters.

Or maybe yellow fear monsters.

That would explain why Killowog is always standing alone. .

Taboili is a complex carb, IIRC, and if you combine fruits with complex carbohydrates and complex carbs with protein, you're pretty likely to get a bad case of gas. Usually, improper food combinations will do it. On the other hand, dietary rules are a little out of my field, so I'm thinking if there's a Vegan or Dietician out there in CBR-land, they would know better than I would. Unless everyone there has a wierd case of gluten intolerance that I haven't read about yet...

It tends to be a rule for me that any food which tastes slightly good is going to give me gas.

Bert, you don't know what you've done... *puts restaurant on list*

As for tabouli, it's made from cracked wheat. If you're wheat sensitive or gluten-sensitive, it might wreak havoc on your system, including bloating and gas.

It was probably a combo of the olive oil from that and whatever else you ate that did it though.

Fixed the link. . sorry about that!

Ararat

have you never been there? (it's right around the corner from us).

TINY restaurant, so be sure to have reservations (luckily the food is all available to go). . and tho the website is WAY out of date, they still have belly dancers on Friday & Saturday nights.
