I am ecstatic to announce the birth of Ruby Grace Bomberg, born this morning at 9:01 am central time.
My wife went for her bi-weekly Dr. appointment and found her blood pressure elevated among other nastys in her blood work. The doctor chose to perform a c-section before she got any worse.
Despite being born nearly 3.5 weeks ahead of schedule, both Ruby and her mom are perfectly healthy and doing great.

Congratulations Homer Jay, she is beautiful. (This is of course a compliment and an open invitation for other members of the board to make the obligatory, "She must get her looks from her mother." jokes and frees us all to accuse Homer Jay of being unattractive.)

Just think, in about 14 years, you will live in a world of pain.
But for now, congrats on beating the genetic lottery - twice. She's gonna give Ellie a competition in cuteness.

Congrats, she's a cutie. Glad to hear mom and baby are faring well.
So where's the comic book character onesie/blanket? I am still wondering if Valmore will have our girl dressed up in a Marvel outfit or a RedSox onesie on the day she's to come home from the hospital.

Once I find a Red Sox onesie, you'll have your answer.

For those of you with one young child who are planning to have another, a word of advice: wait until the first child is at least out of his/her terrible twos. Daughter #1 has been a complete terror since we've been home with the baby. I've nearly turned into Jack Torrance on more than one occasion. There is a reason why God makes two year-olds so cute...it's to prevent you from throttling them at least twice a day.
BTW, don't expect to hear from me too much over the next 4 weeks. I don't go back to work until March 6th and my every waking hour is spent trying to keep my oldest out of my wife's hair or from killing herself.
