So Entertainment Weekly had like a five page preview of King's new book Cell. I read it at work today.

So.. am I totally messed up if reading this gorey zombie-ish both reminded me of a girl I used to see on a number of levels and totally cheered me up and made my day?

Anyway, I was reading this horror tale and of course I loved it especially because it takes place only a few subway stops away from where I was reading it. Not to mention I think King refers to a local comic shop that I go to. I think. He doesn't name it, but it's the only comic shop in the area King describes. Plus the main character of the story is a local comic book creator himself.

Oh and did I mention there were Duckboats. Duckboats and zombies. How the hell can I not love this book. Not sure when it comes out, but I need to get it.

I read this a few days ago, and I really liked it. I guess the retirement thing got in the way of new ideas, which is always a good thing. That preview was seriously creepy, and now I'm dying (ha!) to know just what set the bloodshed off. It was really cool that the main character is a graphic novel writer, and it didn't escape me that he name-dropped Marvel's golden boy Spider-Man.
