This art can be new or old and in any medium. If it's an old piece please indicate approximately when it was created. And please feel free to comment on others' work, BUT remember, this isn't art class and all posters are encouraged to participate regardless of talent. In this piece, dated November 1st 2003, Shiborugu has tried to catch Storm rockin' out, but instead drew a guitar which was refered to as not quite looking like a guitar at all. Either way, I'll fix 'er up if I have time.

aaaaah papapishu! I forgot the tiara! That's the part that makes her the best there is! It's what seperates the cheese from the classic. A morbid bathing suit, one that would look horrible on any woman, with cape attached to it, just screams bad taste, but if you add a tiara, your outfit is instantly transformed in an example of style and grace, the elegant outfit for any regal goddess.

Here's a Storm I whipped up. I like the character but really hadn't drawn her that much. I know the costume isn't completely right but I didn't have any good reference shots of her in this costume. I really couldn't figure out that cape. Also I know her powers don't work quite like I show them but I was stumped on how to make her look like she was using her pwers in a close up shot.

I'd love for you to describe your technique for these.

That was a lot of work, but really simple. I've got a wacom tablet and stylus, which means I can draw directly into the computer. I used Painter to make a sketch and then added a layer and redrew the picture using a thicker line. Then I added the first layer of shadow using a coarse airbursh. I added several more layers of shadow with differeing weights and opacities- still using the coarse aibrush. Then I went in and sketched some more thin lines in. After that I used the fill tool to fill the canvas in in dark blue and added the red to the eyes and lips and chin.

Voila- Storm, Lady Dracula.

I think maybe I need one of these Wacom tablets. I know nothing about them. What do they run?

I'm thinking of bakla as Edna Mode right now for some reason...

The basic Wacom tablet is about 100 bucks. it comes with a tablet, a stylus and the Classic Painter program. It's a far more organic way of drawing on the computer. I'm totally in love with my tablet. it takes a but of getting used to, but once you do you'll find that it's quite a neat way to draw and paint in the computer.

I've been wanting to participate in DMAX for quite some time, but since it looks like it still going to be a couple of months before I get a new home computer with a scanner and all....I decided to see what I could do on MS Paint. Really like her to have an icy cool attitude too... Don't know if I captured that or not... The costume is inspired by the Morrison/Quitely ones. -JRjr cover with all the team (look at Ororo head- ok it's different but it's just inspiration.) to Uncanny X-Men 206 (I think so, for me it's Special Strange 56, with uncanny 206 and 210 inside;- uncanny 207,208,209 were published in Album X-Men 13.)
-BWS art from Uncanny X-men 186. the scene were Ororo out of bed first talks to Forge.

I present to you...STORM!

Drawn in pen (I was just sketching, didn't think I would color it) and colored in Photoshop. Again, the colors are a little messed up on my monitor so it MIGHT look weird, I don't know. I went for the messily colored look, somewhat out of the lines yet elegant and glowing at the same time. Going to upload a HUUUUGE batch of X-Women later, colored probably, and there's more Storm in there.

LOL....well "butch" isn't exactly what I was going for. I just see Storm as a strong character that should have a well toned body. Maybe I overdid it with the abs and made her look less feminine...

Hah! I was wondering how you'd pull off her mohawk hairstyle. :D Awesome! It's one of my favorites for Ororo.

It wasn't until your Nightcrawler entries that I realized that you were changing up the hairstyles to go along with the changes in outfit, so I just had to see how you'd do this. I think it turned out great, nice job! :cool:

Now I can't wait to see how you'll pull off Malice-possessed Lorna's hairstyle, or any of Rogue's. She's the queen of crazy hairstyles, so there's a lot to play around with there. :p

I like how you rendered Storm's outfits too, the details you put into all your drawings are fantastic. It's so purty. Also, I'm a huge fan of X-Men:Evolution, so I love how you're incorporating Steve Gordon's designs into your own work. Very nice. ^_^

Storm looks better when she's very clean and graphic, because her power signature is very complex. When you do up the costume too much, it becomes too busy na. Your design works fine. I'd even love to see higher gloves on this one to balance off the bare body, but it's a perfectly nice design!
