1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?
it's from a game I played (Star Ocean:The Second Story), "Tetragenes" is a race of three-eyed beings from a planet of the same name--two of my favorite characters in the game are that race. I picked it because it's been the screenname I've used for everything since I was 12 (so that makes it about 8 years).

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.
Astonishing X-Men, Ultimate X-Men, and New Excalibur. Many many moons ago I read Uncanny and adjectiveless X-Men

3. What is your favorite movie?
hmm...as of right now I reckon it's "Chronicles of Narnia"

4. What music do you listen to?
rock, pop, house, trance--a little bit of everything really. LOVE Kylie Minogue though ;)

5. Tell us about you.
not really much to tell besides what's in my profile--19 (soon be 20), male, in South Carolina. I'm a big Dazzler, Young Avengers, and rpg fan.

I'm 23, straight, single, male, and read religiously. I love books as well as comics. I drink too much, raise hell, and enjoy spending my free time sitting at a bar listening to a band with friends, playing sports, in the gym, or just out walking/hiking/mingling. I talk a lot of shit, but I can usually back it up. If i give you hell, its most likely because I like you.

Darkwave has always been my handle on various comics boards. It refers to one of the types of music that I like.

All three of the flagship titles, plus minis. Sometimes Wolverine, sometimes New X-men or Exiles.

Tough one, but I'll have to settle on either Clerks or 24 hour party people.

Industrial, electroclash, drum+bass, powernoise, darkwave, new wave

Chick, in my early 30s (which I guess means I'm a woman, not a chick....) First X-book was Uncanny 196. I'm an attorney at a big law firm. In my spare time, I'm very involved in the local underground music scene.

I'm gonna be starting law school soon! Nice to see I won't be the only one in the law profession who still reads comics

It's a spur of the moment screenname, Jaime Madrox is among my favourite characters and i was born in 1984... I'm not very good at screennames...

At the moment i'm reading Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Men, Cable and Deadpool, New Excalibur, X-Factor, New X-Men, Wolverine and Wolverine : Origins.

My faves at the moment are X-Factor, New X-Men and Cable and Deadpool.

3. What is your favorite movie?

Hmmmm it's between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and X2. Oddly their all the second film of trilogies, i dunno what's going on there...

4. What music do you listen to?

An odd mix of indie, punk and goth.

5. Tell us about you.

Not a whole lot to tell really, i'm a 22 year old male who is currently between jobs and spending my days reading comics and watching Dr Who (huge geek, me???)... I enjoy watching films, listening to music and reading.

Nope, not by a longshot (joke). There's quite a few lawyers with pullboxes at my local comic book store (though, in DC, it seems like EVERYBODY's a lawyer, so that may just be a reflection of the area).

It's an amalgamation of darkside and quiet-storm. Basically, I had to come up with something for a screename on the spur of the moment, back when I first began posting on other sites and writing fan-fiction.

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.

Just got back into reading a couple of years ago. After getting more or less caught up on those years I had missed, my interests expanded to include most of the X-Books and others from the Marvel U.

Current favorites are AXM, Exiles, X-Factor, and Wolverine.

3. What is your favorite movie?

A wide range, but Star Wars probably stand out the most. Right now, Empire Strikes Back and Revenge Of The Sith are in a dead-heat for tops on my list.

4. What music do you listen to?

Anything, as long as it's a good song, from hardcore hip-hop to rock to electronica to R&B to old-school punk and funk, and every so often, even a little country.

5. Tell us about you.

Male, 29. Outside of that, I think the most interesting stuff's already been listed above.

Yes, Fireball87o is me good buddy! I decided to scrap the old username & come up with one that fits the feel of CBR a little bit better (ya see Fireball was my old school chum's former username on another board a long long time ago...and so I wanted a username that felt more my own).
Anyway, I've been on hiatus for a bit & just came back to the board (new name & avatar intact) --good to see familar faces still around :)

Well I'll introduce myself here even though I did in the community forum already. My name's Jessica, I'm 16 and I live in New Jersey. I love writing and hope to become a published author someday. I'm going to be a junior come next year (there's no point in saying I'm a sophmore, there are two days of school left :P), and I'm hoping to go far, far away for college.

I like to read... alot. Books and some comics, but the bulk of those some comics are X-men. Oh yeah, and draw when provoked. I'm a theater kid.. yeah I know, throw vegetables and yell "Fag!" but it's amazingly fun. Umm... any other important tidbits.. oh yeah, I practice both Theravada and Zen Buddhism.

Hi all, I usually just lurk but wanted to get a logon in case I feel like chatting it up.

1. My screenname is from a character I used a lot on City of Heroes, good times.

2. I read Uncanny, Astonishing, and New Excalibur. May be dropping all three soon, Astonishing is a good read but the bi-monthly thing is crap and getting old now. It's like constipated comic book reading to me at this point. Uncanny I'll pick up unless Marvel Girl leaves. May pick up X-Men again depending on how I like the new direction, but so far the premise is weak imo. NEX I only read for the characters, and I haven't enjoyed the series much thus far. Like F.T., but not a big fan of Black Knight
and the direction Frank is taking this book. Will try it and hope it's better than what CC was doing. If not for Sage I'd never have picked it up at all.

3. I don't really have one favorite movie, there a lots I enjoy but none really stand out.

4. My musical taste is all over the place, I like specific songs.

5. 30 y.o. man wasting time at work.

6. I know a few of you on other boards, so yes.

The "gypsy" part comes from the fact that I'm Hispanic and while I was in Spain, at least 10 people asked me if I was "gitana" (gypsy). And then when I came back, my friends all agreed. The "Naemah" part comes from the name of an ancient Hebrew goddess of desire.

Metallurgique was a Belgian make of car, which expired in the 1920's. I'm half Belgian and I'm really into vintage cars. Plus it comes with that cool crest in my avatar, which is the real Metallurgique radiator emblem.

Uncanny and NXM, but honestly I mostly enjoy the older stories from before 1993. My favorite X-era is rougly between 1982 and 1987, between "Brood adventure 1" and "Inferno."

"The Last Emporer" maybe. Bernardo Bertolucci is my favorite director. I also like "Blade Runner."

Okay, I'll bite.

1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?

It's taken from a novel I wrote (unpublished). It refers to a rare type of magic user who channels a force known as the Melody by surrendering to it.

Loyally? Astonishing. I also read New X-Men because a friend dumps them on me when he's done with them. At the moment I'm giving X-Factor, Uncanny and Adjectiveless a try as well.

3. What is your favorite movie?

Miracle on 34th St (The original, in black & white)

4. What music do you listen to?

I grew up on Golden Oldies and Ray Stevens. Discovered a love of Classical and other instrumental works in Middle School. My wife taught me how to love alternative and butt rock. If it's got a beat, odds are I'll enjoy it.

5. Tell us about you.

I'm 32, married 9 years, no kids. We live in Oregon, but as soon as I'm comfortably settled into my new job we're planing to save up for an eventual move to Ireland. Could take a few years, though.

Hm...my name is Phil...and I was 3/6 is my birthday. I don't really know why it's "Mr" but tha't always been in my AIM screenname.

I'm loyal to Astonishing, as well as some of the minis (Warsong). I tend to keep up with the other titles as well (at least Uncanny/Adjectiveless)

A little bit of everything. I really enjoy country music, showtunes, and cheesy pop music. But I also like some older rock music.

Canemacar was my attempt to write out Swordsman of Valour in Quenya(one of Tolkien's elven languages), but it wouldn't work so I adapted it and used it as a screenname.

I haven't bought any books in a while since I've only just returned to comics after a few years away. Seeing what happened to my favorite has me not wanting to pick any up in protest, but I might get Cable and Deadpool since I've heard really good things.

Pretty much anything, but I have prefrence for Rock. Classic Rock in particular.

Whatever's on? I don't really have a preference.

I'll stick to comic book stuff, considering that's mainly what you guys need to know. I despise most time travel stories. The fact that they are quite frequent is frustrating. I love continuity. It's one world, unless otherwise specified. Treat it like one. Out of the four events over the past few years, I enjoy Annihilation the most. I thought the death of the Freedom Fighters was entirely unecessary. Since the relaunch, I've liked Mackie's run on Amazing better than JMS's. My favorite artist is Romita, Jr. (And I wish he could been on Amazing when Mackie was... I had to settle for Peter Parker, not that that was bad.) If he counts, my favorite X-Men member is Lockheed. If you have any questions about my tastes or want to learn more ask or provide something to me so that I can provide an opinion. I only make that request because I'm sure I missed something.

It's from David Cronenberg's version of The Fly, what Seth Brundle rechristened himself in his experiment logs after his transformation. I'm a big Cronenberg fan and it was the first thing that popped into my head when I had to come up with a screenname.

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.
All 3 core X-Men books (Whedon, Carey, Brubaker), plus X-Factor and Cable/Deadpool. And I dabble with Wolverine: Origins, but I'm losing interest.

3. What is your favorite movie?
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'll go with A Clockwork Orange, but there are many others contenders for that title.

4. What music do you listen to?
Despite living in Nashville, anything but country (except for a fondness for Johnny Cash) and teen pop. I like industrial, metal, techno, classical, hard rock, all that kind of stuff.

Just turned 32, married, two dogs, no kids. Stereotypical geek interests like comics, movies, books, video games, writing, and computers, plus scuba diving (just got back from Nassau where the wife and I dove the site where they filmed Thunderball). A flaneur is one who experiences flanerie - basically where someone finds inspiration in things they would not have noticed before...like suddenly a stroll along an empty street is full of life. Its employed[stylistically] in a lot of arthouse movies in France.

I play in a band called Severyn, and they call me Thor because I hit the drums so hard, and we are all comic book fans, the 5150 is a police code for "Crazy Person Disturbing the Peace", my cousin and I used to use it as our "crew" and he is in Iraq right now so I use it a lot to be kind of a dedication to him, it's tatooed on my knuckles.

I like the new Civil War: X-Men Series, but my favorite run was the 2nd team of X-Men when they introduced Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolvie, and all them. I also dig the X-Men side stories like the Gambit series.

My favorite movie is "The Warriors" followed by "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

I listen to everything, I am a Recording Arts major in college, but my main music style is Hardcore and Metal.

My Name means the Stealth Psycho Skeleton 1000. I picked it because it or a variation of it has been my screen name since I got the original Half-Life (almost 8 years ago. Has it been that long?) and to make up for my total lack of skill in the game I came up with this name to set myself apart.

Not much of a story here. DJM are my initials :o not too creative, but i was in a hurry to sign up.

None at the moment but that is going to change. I collected from the early UXM 200's- around UXM 300. During that time i went back and got backissues etc of UXM. I also followed a lot of X related books during that time such as New Mutants, X- Factor, x-force, and excalibur. I just ordered Grant Morrison's run on X-Men in TPB from amazon. I'm going to read that and then decide which x titles i want to jump on again. I'm excited to check out Astonishing X-men becasue of the line up.

3. What is your favorite movie?
Hard to say but I love Taxi Driver. Scorsasse and De Niro were both on top of their game in that one.

4. What music do you listen to?
Mostly rock, but i've been getting into jazz and folk recently too. I love bands like neil young, pearl jam, dinosaur jr, wilco, built to spill, the mars volta, and mastodon. I also can't get enough miles davis albums :)

28 and I live in the dirty south Atlanta to be more specific. I work for a Technical Placement firm as a recruiter. I love sports baseball in particular. I love music. I don’t consider myself a guitar player but I play around with the guitar. Love checking out live music. I grew up collecting Gi Joe and then picked up a classic x-men comic that happened to be part of the dark phoenix saga and I was hooked on the x-men comics after that. I stopped collecting comics for a while but picked it back up in my senior year of college. I read a lot of alan moore and frank miller stuff then. I never actually introduced myself to this board, did I? Well, hello, board, and hello everyone! Here goes:

1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?

My screenname is a combination of two things I love most in the world: mysticism and comic books. Going "beyond the beyond" is a Native American phrase for journeying with Spirit, and of course The Beyonder is a Marvel character from the 80s. He may not have always been in the best of stories, but I associate him with some of my favorite Marvel cosmic concepts like the Cosmic Cube, and Rick Jones' discovery of the unlimited power within himself.

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.

I used to read everything. These days I read Mike Carey's X-Men in fervent anticipation of each issue. I read Brubaker's Uncanny every month too. I'm reading Warsong. The other books I keep in touch with, reading them in the store or sometimes just really paging through, and hearing about them online. I try everything at least once.

3. What is your favorite movie?
My old fan favorite I-can-quote-the-whole-script kinda movie is The Princess Bride. However, a Jeff Bridges movie called Fearless is probably the most powerful movie I've seen and holds more personal significance for me.

4. What music do you listen to?
Lots and lots and lots of stuff. I've got about 25,000 songs on this computer, many different styles and artists, from rock to folk to world to new age to jazz to classical to hip hop to just about anything else. I like bands with large discographies that are always evolving. 25 years old. I live in the Philippines. I'm an accountant. Of all the cartoons I've watched, no series has ever made an impact on me like XTAS did. Sure, I did like some cartoons which I've watched when I was growing up, like Voltes V (which is a Japanese cartoon) but they just didn't move me in the same XTAS did.

When I was young, I used to read books by Danielle Steel and Stephen King but I'm not into that kind of books anymore.

I'm a fan of Harry Potter books now. I've read all six books and I'm glad that Harry Potter now has a romance with Ginny Weasley LOL :o I've watched all four movies as well.

Aside from reading comic books and Harry Potter movies, I enjoy shopping and going out of town with my friends. I also like watching reality TV shows like America's Next Top Model.

I like the fact that people have civil discussions in this board. No name calling, no pouring of a person's bad mood out on somebody else, no immature bickering. Currently I'm only reading uncanny xmen with E. Brubaker. Trying to find some books that interest me for more reading.

Hmmm. Tough question, High Fidelity probably. Anything with Jack Black. I really like Boondock Saints, Walk the Line, anything with Chris Farley. I have a wide range of favorite movies.

Mostly hair metal. I listen to all types though. I dig the old county music that I grew up with to.

I'm 25 years old. Live in Kentucky. Just recently got back into comics after like 13 years away. Wow, things sure have changed. Ummm...you ever wander in an unfamilier place and slowly backup...most X-comics from '85-'98 MY golden age. Wolverine was delegated to only like half dozen books instead of the 400 he's in now. New Mutants are my favorite, followed by Silvestri's Uncanny...and the first couple dozen X-force, and Jimmy 'jumper' Lee's X-Men.

It's a play on words, and basically means that I'm a sensual homo, i.e. fairly vanilla. I use it elsewhere, which is one reason I chose it, but also Naked Soul (Another nick I use elsewhere) was already taken.

Currently reading, in no particular order:UXM, XM, NXM, X-Factor, AXM, Wolverine/Origins

3. What is your favorite movie?

X-Movie? I guess the second one. If you're meaning favourite movie ever, I don't really deal in absolutes, but I guess 2001 and Bladerunner would be right up there, for starters.

4. What music do you listen to?

I have very eclectic tastes, and listen to anything from prog rock to jazz, blues, indie, punk, classics from the 60s, 70s and 80s, world music, Motown, ambient and the more avant garde.

I fell in love with comics and sci-fi / fantasy at an early age, and knew, almost from the start that I wanted to write comics. I've spent a lot of time putting together my own fictional universe, and am currently looking for collaborators with a view to self publishing. I chose Roland becasue of Roland Deschain, main character from the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, my favorite books from my favorit author. Taxt is the last name of the "main character" from De-Loused in the Comatorium, The Mars Volta's debut concept album and one of my favorite albums of all time.

Zoolander, I guess. I'm not much of a movie person.

4. What music do you listen to?
I listen to mostly anything, but I especially enjoy the rock and its spawn: Metal, Punk, etc. Im in a punk rock band at the moment. I also love synthpop!

5. Tell us about you.
I'm a 15 year old student in the far away land of Canadia!! I loved comics since I was six and I'm hooked. I love drawing, I love sports, and I love music. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'm straight, but I'm not 100% on my preferences.

Hey! I signed up a while ago, but I just started posting in this last month. Now for the important stuff!

Now to answer these questions
1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?
Initially it was "losequismen" as in Los Equis (X) Men which is how the animated series was dubbed back home. Then i changed it to Andres Pacheco because that's my name and I don't really like anonimity.

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.
If all my X-books came in the same week I would have to read them in this order: X-men,New X-men, Astonishing X-men, X-factor, Uncanny X-men, Wolverine, New Excalibur.

3. What is your favorite movie?
Pasos de baile (the dancer upstairs). I kind of dodged the terrorism period back home, so seeing what people went through was incredibly important tome

4. What music do you listen to?
Almost everything.

5. Tell us about you.
Grew up in a really really small town, live in Canada 5 years, went back to Peru, grew up some more, finished school, moved to Canada again to study abroad. And here I am.

Hey, I just discovered these boards recently and being a huge X-fan decided I would start posting.

1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?

My favorite superhero is Cyclops and his red visor is probably the most iconic symbol of him.

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.

The 3 core ones.

3. What is your favorite movie?

Real tough to say. I'm a big fan of kung-fu movies though. If I had to pick one it would be Fist of Legend.

4. What music do you listen to?

Rock. All types. Even though it is not really a distinctive style, a lot of my favorite bands are labelled as Progressive Rock. Rush is far and away my all time favorite band though.

5. Tell us about you.

I'm 19 and going to school in NYC. I've been a huge X-fan all my life and have read tons of back issues from before my time. My only real gap of knowledge is between Onslaught till about 2002/3. So yeah, I missed the entirety of Morrison's run.

Well I am actually a Scott, and people have been known to add a 'y' on the end. I was/am a huge Buffy fan and I saw a link there many moons ago. Me, Buffy and the X-Men. (Although I'm not particularly fond of Cyclops!) This is the first chance I've had to use it as I'm not really one for joining forums (you lucky people!)

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.

Current favourite is definately Mr Carey's X-Men. I also read New X-Men and Uncanny and I recently started Exiles (along with Betsy) and New Excalibur. I read X-Factor and Astonishing in the trades. I read a lot more but those are my X-books.

3. What is your favorite movie?

Aw man! Just one?! I'm a little into my movies and tend to follow certain actors and hope for the best. My current favourites are Cillian Murphy and Emily Watson. As for films...I'll try to be brief: Pan's Labyrinth, Breaking The Waves, Amelie, Casablanca, Cinema Paradiso, Grave of the Fireflies, The Hours and Yossi and Jagger.

4. What music do you listen to?

Cliched but a bit of everything. Lately I've mostly been listening to Amy Winehouse, Patrick Wolf, The Raveonettes, The Cardigans, The Sounds, the old motown girl groups, Dusty Springfield, Shiny Toy Guns and a lot of random stuff. I like to think of myself as eclectic.

5. Tell us about you.

I'm a twenty two year old boy who works in a chocolate shop. I work to live not live to work. Living includes lots of music, lots of film, lots of alcohol and lots of the other.

Well, been lurking for some time now, but since I just started posting I'd like to introduce myself. So, hello everybody! :)

1. What does your screenname mean? Why did you pick it?

Some time ago I had to pick a screen name at a website, though I have no idea when or where that was. Anyway, I couldn't think of something fitting (most names were already taken) but I was listening to the song "Starfish Ride" by the band "Flowing Tears" (great song, great band). So the name Starfish somehow stuck with me. Besides, they are awesome animals, like most echinoderms :D .

2. What X-Books do you read? You are here cause you read them.

At the moment I buy X-Factor, X-Men and Uncanny, might pick up the upcoming New X-Men arc. I follow the events in Exiles and New Excalibur, however.

3. What is your favorite movie?

That's a hard one, but I have to say that currently "Pan's Labyrinth" is way ahead of the rest.

4. What music do you listen to?

Many different styles, but most of them could somehow be classified as alternative. Lot's of rock, but also blues, jazz, gothic, electro and metal. One of my favourite bands is "The Gathering" from the Netherlands.

5. Tell us about you.

I'm from Germany and live near Frankfurt. After high school I worked some time in a hospital and as a paramedic. At the moment I study sociology, political science and informatics. Besides art and music I'm also quite interested in medicine, biology and transhumanism. ;)
Have been a sci-fi and fantasy nut my entire life, but can't really remember when I started to read comics. Besides Marvel I read a lot of independent stuff and european comics (french graphic novels, that's the way it's done, Marvel!). My favourite title has to be Yukito Kishiro's "Battle Angel" (aka GUNNM).

I got my screen name from a translation site. It's Norwegian (I think) for Phalaenopsis which is an orchid (SOOO gay). It means night butterfly, so it's actually Norwegian for moth... But Nattfjaril this has a nicer ring to it...

At the moment I'm reading X-men, Astonishing X men, X Factor (just started), Exiles, X-men 1st Class, New X-men and Uncanny X-men...

Anything with lesbians in it... ;) Although I also enjoyed Les Invasiones Barbares very much... And I'm looking forward to Atlas Shrugged which should be released next year...

Loads of... Artists/bands I like very much are: Belle & Sebastian, Zero 7, Jane Birkin, Nina Simone, Thomas Dybdahl, Room Eleven, Sia, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Damien Rice and much more...
