don't know if this has been addressed anywhere, but how exactly do e2 supes and superboy prime get their powers? if kryptonite from our reality/dimension can't hurt e2 supes, it's reasonable to think that our yellow sun would have no affect on them either. if the source of a weakness has no effect, why would the source of a strength?
also, i read somewhere or something that our superboy's dna is both a mix of both lex luthor's and superman's dna. if this is accurate, is the lex dna from our lex or from e3/imposter lex? how long has e3 lex been masquerading as our lex?

I keep thinking that same thing... i think they may tie it into our superboy being geneticaly linked to alex luthor for 2 reasons:
1. johns added the luthor dna thing to conner recently and has brought up connor alot in IC
2. alex luthor is playing one superboy why not both?

Hmmm.... Superboy Prime is from Earth-Prime and he seems more jacked by our yellow SUN, probably more than his own Sun. I don't think he was moving planets in his short time on Earth-Prime. In fact, he wasn;t all that powerful during COIE.
e2 supes seems to not be more or less powerful from our Sun, but he hasn't really shown his power yet. He should be more powerful than current Superman, but he is older.

the point i'm trying to make about e2 supes and ePrime sboy is this: how can 1 thing from our dimension affect them but not another? the one thing that's affecting them both is our yellow sun. so if the sun strengthens them, why wouldn't kryptonite weaken them? its also from our dimension.
i could understand the idea that they had absorbed the sunlight from their home dimension and still had a ton of it stored up... except its been years since they've been exposed to their respective suns.
again, if kryptonite from our earth cannot hurt e2 supes, how does our sun continue to power him?

I think that's kinda like asking "How can they both have the same first name Kal but not have the same last name (El vs L)?" Some things are different, some things are the same.
As far as we know, the Superman from some other dimension might get weakened by Kryptonite AND get less strength from the sun.

I guess the easiest answer is, there's no discernible difference between E2, EPrime, and E1 in terms of the laws of physics. All three apparently have a sun exactly the same as the others. The flipside of that is, apparently the Kryptons were different, or at least different enough that the k-radiation is different for each universe.

Or Kal-L was lying so he could throw Batman off the trail of how to stop him?
If the ring had no effect why bother using heat vision on it?

I think That Superman would be Ultraman from Earth-3

Because it's a symbol (in Kal-L's opinion) of all the mistrust and doubt infecting the current DCU. That's why he essentially implies that while it can't hurt him physically, it hurts his feelings that Batman tried to use it on him.
And, presumably, because the DC editors don't want Batman to have it any more. Then again, it's not as rare as it used to be.

immortal_batman would be mistaken:
I think That Superman would be Ultraman from Earth-3
Nope. Kryptonite actually GIVES him more powers.

I think the thing is that Originally each Universe was different and therefore had a different effect on each superman(or boy) of course considering that the current DCU Is an Amalgam of the left over planets Anything goes :p , but if you read some stories online about superboy prime at http://superman.ws/tales2/superboyprime/ which tells about the character a bit pre-crisis, I think his current power level is due to two things, Alexander luthor giving him a boost as well as the current DCU being a Totally different universe with different rules. But it did seem from teh get go that he wasn't affected by the same things that Earth-1 supes was like red solar radiation, but he also wasn't nearly as powerful as shown during crisis when he was in awe of the power of Earth-2 supes. SO once again , I guess anything goes. :p

It's questionable why even Batman would use the ring, given that the Superman of his own world has resisted its effects and even wielded on occasion. The ring is purely symbolic in either case, since a truly motivated Superman would hardly be stopped by it.

From "Hush" I think Batman said that it would slow him down, but not stop him. It basically gave him time to come up with something else to stop an out of control Superman.
