Are you looking forward to the New Series by Bendis and Maleev??
Yes or No?? You decide!

I chose maybe, as Im still undecided, but I think I'll give it a miss and pick up the Ms Marvel solo series instead, as I really can't afford both.

Nope. Spider Woman is okay. But I really don't care. Ms. Marvel is where it's at. *Waits for the throngs of Ms. Marvel fans that will one day join her as her art starts surging all over the place.* Boy do I just love the fickle and easy to please. Sigh.

I can't wait for this series. I was sold once Bendis/Maleev were doing it they did a truely ground breaking run on Daredevil, and I loved Bendis rendition of Jessica Drew when she appeared in Alias.
I like Spider-Woman I, Jessica Drew; however, due to Brian Michael Bendis horrid story decompression stories, I'm not buying the book.

Yep, looking very forward to this since for one thing it's the same awesome DD team and two Spider-Woman is a cool character that Bendis has brought to the spotlight once again. The premise is also really good since it'll be sort of a hybrif of a spy/S.H.I.E.L.D. book.

I'm looking forward to buying the trades when they come out. I can't stand reading decompressed Bendis books on a monthly basis. By picking up the trades, at least I know something will eventually happen without having to wait months for the eventual payoff.
Maleev is an excellent artist.

That`s a good point.Everyone knows that Drew is Bendis`s facination.Personally, its good that Spider-Woman is getting new exposure. But i think that she is written wrong, and is different from how she was portrayed before Bendis took her.
As for the book,i voted for maybe. If Bendis is writing it,i wont buy it.If someone else is..i will most likely buy it.

a BIG FAT YES!!! ive been waiting for over a decade (only read SW early 90's) for an ongoing spiderwoman. Also like to see how she fares with her new enhanced powers. We have only seen a glimpse of what she can achieve in NA and im sure theres more to come. Would be cool for bendis to take advantage of her immunisation powers, physical abilities alot more. I love how bendis has changed her phermone powers to somthing she can concously control and use to her advantage. But then maybe this has been done before if i am not wrong???.

I'm not voting because, while I am looking forward to a new Spider-Woman title, I'm a bit hesitant about the creative team. Maleev's style is a bit too grim and gritty of late in Daredevil. Hopefully, we will see a different approach in SW.

I like Spider-Woman and everything, but what makes her Spider-Woman? I can't say I've actually seen her do anything...spidery. Spider-Man has webbing at least. And can crawl on walls and the ceiling.
What are Spider-Woman's powers other than the plasma (?) blasts? Which by the way, I don't see any spiders shooting out at prey.
ChildOfTheDarkholde

Spider-Woman has venom-blasts.
They are basically her body's powerful spider-venom discharged in bio-electrical form.
She can stick to walls just like Spidey (in fact the cover to New Avengers # 15 has her stuck to the ceiling), and she has the proportionate strength of a spider, plus the enhanced speed and reflexes that some spider-possess (while still in her mother's womb, Jessica's body was irradiated with a laser-beam that carried the DNA traits of several arachnids, including the Latrodectus Wundagore.
Jessica also has an enhanced sense of hearing (some spiders possess the ability to "feel" the vibrational changes in the air around them, which enables them to assess their surroundings better and "listen" to sounds more keenly), and she possesses pheromones that atract and/or repel, based on several still-undeterminate factors.

Are you sure about the strength thing? That would make her equally as strong as Spider-man...and I don't think thats accurate at all.

It's always been established that Jessica's strength is proportionate to a spider's...
I don't see how that is far-fetched...

Yes, I am looking forward to the book!
Absolutely. I love Bendis! The man made me fall in love with Daredevil ( a character I previously hated). Now that he's left, I will have to get indulge my Bendis fix through another book.
Also, with Bendis I get the impression that when his heart is in something then what he puts out is really, really good.
I also like his portrayal of Jessica Drew. She reminds me of the old portrayal of Huntress (Dixon/Rucka version) which I like alot.
So as everything seems to be comming up roses, I'm a shoe in for this book.

Yeah, she's definitely got the propotionate spider strength. There was a one-page description of her powers back in her first series. I believe Child covered these all accurately. I believe one illustration showed Spider-Woman holding a huge boulder on her back.
When Spider-Woman and Spider-Man first met, her powers were waning -- due to the drug she was taking to supress her pheromones. Perhaps that is why she was ranked in a lower strength scale than Spider-Man back in that infamous Spider-Man annual that ranked all of the super strong Marvel heroes.
Being that she and Spidey are pretty close in size, there strengths must be about the same.

Jessica also has an immunity to non-corrosive toxins, venoms and certain forms of radiation, plus she can fly , not glide, after Hydra messed around with her waning powers...

Yeah... so seeing as generally women have weaker upper body strength (don't anyone yell at me, it's true) proportionally she'd most likely be slighty weaker then Spider-Man. Plus she's a little bit smaller as well.
She wouldn't be far off though.

That makes sense, especially for project your unsure about. However, I've enjoyed Bendis and Maleev on Daredevil, so I'm interested in reading the book. I'm also confident that the book will be written in Bendis' usual decompressed style. Were I to buy individual issues, they'd be sitting in a box until the story was finished anyway. Buying the trade makes more sense to me in regards to this particular title.

After finishing the Daredevil series, I think I owe it to Bendis and Maleev to pick this up.
I don't much care for the character but I don't care for The Thing either and I'm enjoying that book.
Its all about the creative team.
None of the poll options fit my interest level. I'm definately interested in Spider-Woman, even if it is written by Bendis, but not HUGELY excited for it. I'll definately buy the first trade (plus the Spider-Woman: Origin trade) and then decide where I go from there.

Having just read 1-2 of SW: Origin, I have to say, my enthusiasm for this title has increased. Origin isn't anywhere near as slow and decompressed as most Bendis stories. If he can keep up the Origin pace in the ongoing, it should be a good read.

Have you read Spider-Woman: Origin? It's written by Bendis and it's not decompressed or slow. Jessica is being trained by Taskmaster, having her memories altered, and already in costume and all of this happened in issue 2! Bendis can tell fast paced stories.

I agree...Bendis has a hit-and-miss record in terms of so-called "decompression", but Origin is definitely a fast-paced book.

The big difference here is there is a specific need for this title - Bendis has told us there are actual plots and a real driving concept to justify this book's exist - thats hardly the case for all the spider-books. So yes, another book with spider in it is necessary in my opinion. That, and spider-women origin was pretty sweet, enough to warrant me buying an ongoing.
